Such High Hopes
1 December 2005
Well the much anticipated swell that was supposed to come in mid week this week fell way short here in South Florida. The water resembles a lake more than the ocean over the last few days. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get lucky this weekend.

Thanksgiving and the Lack of News
28 November 2005
Don't panic anyone, I'm still here. I've just decided to take a little break recently as there's no need to air my dirty laundry and personal drama on this column. Some good news and some bad news but all and all I'm still here, alive and kicking after the holiday season. I hope everyone else out there can say the same and both survived their holiday and enjoyed it. As time goes by I'll be updating this more and more but lately it's been hectic around here, both relationship wise and work wise as our office is moving from Delray Beach to Boca Raton. That's right, Bay of Rats, here we come.

Marketing Conference
17 November 2005
Welcome to DamienKomala.com to all those I recently met at this morning's conference. Feel free to look around the site. As you can probably tell, this is a fairly personal site built primarily for two reasons. One would be to promote myself online by showcasing my resume and online portfolio and the second being a medium to keep in touch with friends and family that I miss and love from up north. Please feel free to drop me a line at any time. If you're looking for sites that I've built here are a few good examples:
ColeRussell.com
NativeRemedies.com
PetAlive.com
Blaskovich.com
for more please visit my projects page.

Sets On The Outside
15 November 2005
Today, tomorrow and even into Thursday it looks like we'll be enjoying some decent size surf in Delray. Groundswell may pick up over the latter half of the week taking the place of choppy conditions so keep an eye on those cams. Should be a good week to be in the water. |

Weekend Surf Recap
15 November 2005
Weekend surf was hit or miss all weekend long. Delray was decent early Saturday morning. Boynton wasn't working very well so Diana, Ramil and I headed north to Palm Beach to catch some decent rides. Sunday was more of the same. Injury report = one massive bruise on my calf from a gnarly wipeout while getting beaten with my own board. |

Friday Deep Thoughts
11 November 2005
Some people are like slinkies, they really don't serve a purpose but they both make you feel good when you push them down the stairs. |

No Surf
10 November 2005
Surf report for South Florida is pretty minimal over the next week. No big swells (or even small ones). Looks like we may have some moderate wind chop over the upcoming weekend but even that's being hopeful. |

Tire Kingdom Sucks
8 November 2005
A lovely three hour wait in a crappy little waiting room was so much fun, I can't wait to do it again! Note the extreme sarcasm. I actually waited for almost 2 hours before they even moved my jeep, citing difficulty removing the parking brake! "What, you idiots can't operate a parking brake, but I'm letting you fix my alignment and changing my oil?!"
Ok, so I'm the moron here then. At least it's over and the Wrangler's back in action. |

Weekend At Barrie's
7 November 2005
The hangover caused by Saturday night's drinking in Coconut Grove lasted way too long. I have no idea where we went for dinner but it was the oddest burger I've ever had. A half pound burger with chili, cheese, mushrooms, onions and a fried egg. Oddly enough it was pretty good. |

Solo Soul Session
4 November 2005
Yesterday afternoon's solo surf session was a major stress reliever. Long 2-4 ft lefts at Boynton Beach and not a soul in the water but me (for at least an hour). Big board fun. |

Raving Lunatic
3 November 2005
Ok, time for me to rant a little bit about the ongoing situation that is South Florida Traffic Hell. Learn to drive and pay attention South Florida! With the absence of half of the traffic lights in most intersections, traffic has become nothing short of a nightmare. Imagine a six lane wide, four way stop being operated by drunken circus folk and short bus candidates. By the time you make it through one of these gauntlets you're in line for another! Make it stop, please make it stop! |

Fred's Old Lady
2 November 2005
Take a look at the new photo album, albeit a small one, of hurricane Wilma's destruction. |

Power Rangers
1 November 2005
A big thanks to the FPL (Florida Power & Light) crews and out of town crews working to restore power here in south Florida. I even saw a Cinergy Truck on the road the other day! Our office finally has juice and things are slowly getting back to normal. I've got a few photos I'll probably post later this week from the entire ordeal. Right now we're all working hard to catch up from the storm. |

Weekend Surf
1 November 2005
Well, the water is definitely colder now and a 1.5 millimeter wetsuit top or a 3.5 spring suit are a must in the water now. We enjoyed big wind chop all weekend long though certain beaches (Boca) were closed due to bacterial levels. I surfed Boynton Beach Saturday and half of Sunday after checking out Delray for an hour os so. Still it never really got big or powerful enough to require the short board. |
