It’s Better Than Nothing
After a long weekend of absolutely nothing to do we finally got some surf yesterday. Albeit knee to thigh high but still rideable. Thank god because any longer without surf and I would have completely lost it. The lineup was mostly right around S4 and I’d say there were close to 20 of us out there in a pure desperation session. You can really tell how wave starved you become when everyone shows up to ride dribble. Looks like we’ll have a bit more of the same on tap for the rest of the week according to Surfline but we’ll see.  ... Permalink

You Call That A Holiday?
The past weekend was a complete waste. Watched movies and hung out by the pool pretty much all weekend. Not nice enough to make it down to the beach and no surf the entire time. Flower had a much worse weekend than I as you can imagine, spending the entire day in the hospital on Saturday and finally getting to the point where she could eat mid Sunday. I felt so bad I wasn’t there, that’s pretty much all I thought about all weekend. She’s finally feeling better though it’s going to be a while before she’s back to normal.... Continue Reading

The Weekend Outlook
Looks like we may have some surf on tap for the weekend and hopefully building through Monday. The nearshore model for Delray is looking promising but as usual the upcoast spots will get the better of the swell. So wax those boards up boys and girls, it’s almost time to get back in the water (thank God). Surfline’s 36 Hour summery: 36hr Outlook – Friday is small early but N windswell develops and spreads south as we move through the day. We should see 1-2’+ N windswell peaks upcoast before dark; far SFL stays mostly minimal all day. 4-5’ choppy... Continue Reading

Well, It’s Friday
To say the day has lost it’s luster is an understatement this week. The weather around here is going to be pretty much rainy over the entire weekend. If we’re lucky we’ll have some sunshine but it’ll be spotty at best. The waves look to stay down as well and the local surf report even went so far as to say even GI Joe would have trouble catching a few good ones. Flower’s going in for her procedure this afternoon and I hope all goes well. It definetely does not sound like much fun and she’ll be feeling pretty shitty... Continue Reading

Suanne’s Engagement Party
Ah the weekend brought forth a strange occurence in my life. Suanne, an old girlfriend/ friend with benefits has her engagement party on Saturday night. Her brother Mark and I still hang out on occasion and we’re all friends so I was invited to their parents house in Addison Resereve in West Boca for the shindig. Open bar and really good food – it was on. Too bad I forgot my camera but all had a good time. When the party began to wind down Suanne was extremely drunk but very happy. Her soon-to-be husband is a quiet but cool.... Continue Reading

More Wednesday Bad News
Once again the Wednesday before I’m due to head out to see Flower we get bad news. Looks like my trip is cancelled once again. I’m not going to get into details about it but to say we’re both not happy about it would be an understatment. I just hope she feels better. For more on this story check out her blog here. If she hasn’t updated it yet I’m sure she will soon. Feel better Flower.  ... Permalink

Hump Day
Not much to report for the most part. Still no surf in the forecast for the east coast of Florida and the weather has been a little off as well. Not quite sunny, not quite rainy. At least I’m one day closer to a long weekend with Flower. That’s right, I’m finally making the drive over to her side of the state for Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully I can get there by early evening on Friday. It all pretty much depends on what’s needed here in the office before I take off. There may even be surf over there for... Continue Reading

Sunday Afternoon Cookout At George’s
Ah, the end of a nice little weekend. After spending half the day at the Boca Country Club with Dean, Suanne and family we all headed over to George’s house for a little cookout. Great food and entertaining company. Everyone took turns playing guitar and singing along until way past dark. Now, sitting here on Monday morning to say I’m a little foggy would be great understatment so forgive the lack of detailed descriptions. As always I did have the Canon with me so I was snapping off shots here and there. I was able to record several videos of... Continue Reading

Lake Atlantic Returns
Summer is finally here and far too soon for us surfers. The Atlantic looks like a lake. Pristine, glassy and flat, way too flat. The surf outlook from Surfline lays it out for us… “Not much in the way of any surf or even a glimmer of hope for surf is on the horizon.” Not good news. At least the upcoming weekend should be as sunny as it gets around here so it’ll be lounging by the pool or heading down to the beach. Once again the west coast got surf yesterday and we remained “flat and poor”. Guess we’ll... Continue Reading
