Wow am I sore. Last night’s Yoga class was pretty good. I’ve recently joined Yoga South just down the street and the classes are pretty challenging. I actually met a fellow surfer named Adam there who normally surfs at Delray. See guys, I’m not the only one! Looks like I’ll be checking a few new breaks next swell since he clued me in on some I didn’t know about. In other news I think I’ll stick around with Flower. She makes me happy and I seem to make her happy so even though it’s gonna be a long, tough, semi-strange road but my heart tells me it’ll be worth it. I have no idea what the future’s going to bring I just know I’d like to have her in it. Now we just have to work on getting her healthy so I can spend as much time as I can with her.... Permalink

Finally the sun came back over the weekend and I was once again able to hang out on the beach. Saturday was pretty relaxing on Delray and Sunday the waves began picking up. By 3pm they were fairly rideable and as we all waited for the tide to drop the sets got better and better. I had the Robert August in the water for about 4 hours from 4:30 to 8:30 last night, catching everything I could. Dianna, Ramil, Mary and I all caught our fair shares of decent thigh-waist high sets. Not that that really means much more than “I don’t have to get up and go to work” but hey, you gotta have something to look forward to right? I actually do finally have something to look forward to, I bought my tickets home yesterday! So, to all you loyal readers back home, the Darkness is coming back! As I’m sure you’re aware there’s a very special woman in my life but things aren’t going so well right now. I’ve been getting emails and phone calls about this pretty much all week so I thought I’d try and tell the story as best as I can. Flower came over last Wednesday and I took the day off. Yesterday’s much anticipated surf session fell a little short as the wind subsided and the swell dropped. The good thing is that it wasn’t crowded, and after the downpour stopped the waves, however little they were, were absolute glass. Mostly they were coming in as thigh high glassy rollers and I must admit I caught my fair share of nice little rides almost making to the nose on two of them. Looks like we’ve got some waist high sets at Delray though few and far between. I brought the Cadillac into the office today so I’m sure I’ll catch a few regardless. It also looks like I’ll be catching early incoming tide too so that should help out as well. At this point I just need to get in the water, clear my head though this damn clock just won’t seem to move fast enough. Thanks for the surf update Ramil, I’ll see you out there.... Permalink

No text messages, no phone calls, no blog comments and no emails. Last night was nothing short of hard but I don’t know what to do or say. What not to say. I know you guys have been there with me through the bad spots before and you’ve seen me come out with a grin on the other side…usually. Time is all we have now. My mind is elsewhere.... Permalink

Those lucky bastards on the west coast, yeah I’m talking to you Flower, are getting some serious surf right about now. Well, serious for them, haha. It looks like Alberto is going to stick around well into the week for them and hopefully when it finally crosses the state it’ll leave behind some good north west ground swell. All of us down here are crossing our fingers for some remnants and leftovers. I did head down to the beach yesterday with my sister and her friend to check out the poor surf situation here in Delray.
