Sunrise on Delray Beach
Once again I was up before the dawn and I thought I’d snap a few more sunrise shots. The clouds looked perfect this morning so I grabbed the tripod and hit the beach. The first few in this set I prepped quickly in Photoshop, the rest are just as I took them. I lowered the exposure rate to keep the sun’s glare down so some came out kind of dark but they still look pretty cool. Click the image to see the rest.  ... Permalink

Delray Dawn Patrol
Ok, so last night’s surf session of glassy 3-4 footers was enough to get my ass out of bed for an early dawn patrol with the boys. I arrived at the beach around 6:30 am, about half an hour before sunrise. I was in the water regardless as the sets kept coming in. Nice glassy rollers. Dan and Ramil joined me around 7:20. There was a bit of a wait between sets as it’s a low level ground swell, but man it was good to be in the water with my boys. I unfortunately had to get to the office... Continue Reading

Marisa Miller
Well, it’s official…. Marisa Miller is the hottest woman on the planet. The new photos in Sports Illustrated just put her over the top on my list. Surfer chick, Victoria Secret super model, down to earth tom-boy and smoking hot. I’m sure you may have a favorite as well but I’ll defend my decision. Hey, I’m a guy. I’m allowed to mildly obsess about women I’ll never meet or never have a remote chance in hell with. Right? …Don’t judge me, monkey.  ... Permalink

Jim & John’s Saturday Night Cocktail Party
Whew, I’m still recovering from this one. Too much Grey Goose for ole’ Damien. Saturday night Jim and John hosted a cocktail party at their place in Delray, overlooking the intracoastal and the ocean. I tried to get a few shots from the balcony but night shots can sometimes be difficult to get without a tripod. As the night went on the photos became more and more obscure but hey, that’s how it goes. Click the photo for the rest of the pics. Thanks Jim and John for hosting such a great party. Sorry for the slurred speech.  ... Permalink

Breakfast On The Beach
Every once in a while circumstances require me to be up way before normal and yesterday morning was one of them. With an hour to waste I grabbed some breakfast and headed down to the beach for the sunrise and snapped off a few shots in the process. This is one of my favorites. Click here to see the rest.  ... Surfing The Dunes With Ramil
Atlantic Dunes was working with waist to shoulder high sets rolling through. Ramil’s wife shot more video on his SmugMug site. Click here to see the fun. One is actually pretty funny as I slide through the shot at the last second. The video above was not the best ride I, but you take what you can get on video. Gotta love the dismount… somewhat like a drunk falling down.  ... Permalink

Yay, It’s Wind Chop
The wind’s been cranking onshore around 10-20 mph and you know what that means! It’s chop time. I had to get out last night and catch a few so I headed down to the Dunes in Delray since I heard S4 was a zoo (as usual). To my surprise I found that there were only 5 or 6 people out there and it was breaking just as well as the South Side. The sets were a bit mushy and tough to get in but once you found your rhythm and got handle for what waves were actually going to break... Continue Reading

Butterfly World
Katherine finally got me to go to Butterfly World with her on Saturday. And though I was apprehensive it was actually a really cool place. For those of you who don’t know, Katherine works at Butterfly World as a tour guide so it was like having my own butterfly expert along with me. Every name, type, country origin and plant she knew by heart. Which was pretty cool considering I knew little to nothing about most butterflies. I had the camera out as usual and took a few shots of birds, butterflies and flowers. Butterflies are incredibly hard to shoot.... Continue Reading
