I had a chance to hit the beach for about two hours on Saturday and about an hour on Sunday. Saturday’s surf wasn’t nearly as clean as Sunday but the size was good. 3-4ft and lots of fun. Sunday’s little session I hit quite late since most of the cams were down. The forecast wasn’t calling for much but it looks like I missed the better part of the swell. Clean South swell rolled in most of the day yesterday with offshores threatening to kill whatever surf there was left. I rode the log and caught my fair share of nice clean rides. Once I got out I shot a few pics of the clean swell. I’ll try and have those up over lunch when I have some time to upload to SmugMug. Today’s supposed to be the day for the “refraction” swell. Delray’s famous bounce back swell off of the Bahamas. Too bad I’ll be watching from a web cam here in Palm Beach. At least Dan and Ramil will have a chance to catch it....

Katherine and I hit the Premier in Boca last night to catch the 7:30 show of Smokin’ Aces. Wow, that was crazy! The movie puts you on the edge of your seat and pretty much keeps you there for about 3/4 of the film. This one’s not for the faint of heart either. Blood, violence, nudity, drug use but totally worth every minute. Crazy as hell – loved it! I can’t think of any better way to describe it. It was just plain off the wall nutty. The Tremor Brothers were way beyond psychotic and the “Plague” was cool and...

Yeah, that’s about it. Bill, Michelle and I made the 3.5 hour trip over to the west coast of Florida yesterday for a client meeting. A one hour client meeting. Holy crap am I tired today because of it. Like sucking the life right out of you. The initial plan was to take a small four seater Cezna over to Tampa but the rainy morning weather killed that notion. That would have been a good time and I’m sure Bill would have tried to scare the living hell out of us as much as possible. So, instead we weaved around...

I finally had the chance to hit up the yoga class at my new gym. As I’m waiting for class to begin my old yoga instructor came up “hey kiddo”. It was great to see a familiar face. The class was alright but not challenging at all. We had too many newcomers to yoga and the class had no rhythm. It was odd though because right after class I looked over at Jessica and just said “I miss your class so much”. She just replied to me with a smile, “If I don’t break a sweat I feel like I’ve...

Wow, that weekend went fast. Friday night the “THAT Agency” crew headed down to Gatsby’s in Boca Raton for a happy hour party hosted by Pound, a high-end programming firm. Great time. Pool, beer and cake! I ran the pool table for most of the evening, haha. Some days I’m on and some days I’m not. Thanks to guys over at Pound for hosting the shindig. Saturday I hit the mall and did a little shopping Saturday night I went to a wine and cheese party hosted by John and Jim at a local art gallery in Delray. They’re back...

For several reasons not the least of which is the weather today but I’ll get into that later. Last night’s post-work surf session was just what I needed to clear my head and really appreciate living in South Florida again. Wilkerson (from my office) and I surfed Flagpole in Palm Beach and though it started out kind of mushy the power and size picked up nicely. Waist to chest peelers with enough power to really get you moving. As the sun set I looked to the west and watched the big orange ball fall into shoreline. I wish I had...

Miles James Metz was born on the 14th of January 6lbs 11oz. I’m sure Mindy and Adam are so happy. Congratulations guys – all the luck in the world to the little guy! I’m sure Adam’s so stoked to have a boy to taunt, ahaha. He’ll have to wait for a while though. I literally just got the email with the good news and had to post it. He promises more pics to come. It always puts a smile on my face to see you guys happy. Geez, better stop, I’m gettin’ misty....

Oh man I sure hope so. Surfline’s got me all packed up sitting here in the office just waiting for 5 to roll around… and it’s only 7:36am. Longboard is locked to the roof of my ride and shortboard (…Lost) is in the sock, waxed and ready in case the size is a bit much for the log. Palm Beach has a tendency to be a bit punchy and will pitch you over the lip before you have any idea what just happened. Makes for a sometimes challenging wave on a longboard. Keep an eye on the Delray beach cam...
