A long yet fairly eventful week. Personally speaking I guess. Here I sit at home on a Friday night with absolutely nothing to do. I thought about heading down to Falcon House in Delray for a few drinks but there’s only so much sitting around a bar by myself I can take. After a while it gets pretty frickin’ boring. I’ll make casual conversation with the bartenders and probably a few free drinks or shots out of my efforts but at the end of the night I’ll still be bored out of my skull and heading home. I drove down to Ft. Lauderdale last night to see my old man. It’s good to see him and things seem to be going pretty well. He’s in town for his honeymoon with his new wife Kim. They’re heading over to the Bahamas for the weekend and had some spare time to hang out with the oldest son. Well it looks like Alison’s pregnancy is finally over and now it’s time to enjoy motherhood. Bill and Alison Teubner had a healthy baby girl at around 12:30 today. Her name is Katherine and I’m sure she’s gorgeous. Congratulations guys! I wish I could have told you guys sooner but… eh, I guess that’s how it goes. Hopefully they’ll have photos to share soon. I know Bill had all of cameras charged and ready for the big day so I’m sure there will be plenty. ... Permalink

End of day drama at the office and here I thought we were all joking around. You’d be surprised what you can do with a Blackberry phone as a joke but I guess I overstepped the ball busting and entered into a new realm. Sorry about that Bill. Surfline’s forecast doesn’t look that great for the next week or so. It’s looking to top out around a whopping 1-2ft range on Saturday or Sunday. Whoo hoo! Looks like my back put me out of commission for the last swell so I’ll just have to sit and wait patiently for the next round of onshore gales. The countdown’s still running on the Nicaragua trip and that’s pretty much all Dan and I talk about. Just under two months and we’re outa here surfing out brains out in Central America. After 6 years or more it was time to retire the old Ikea bedroom set and upgrade to a queen pillowtop sleigh bed. What a difference. Badcock Furniture (yeah, I said it) was having a sale on mattresses which worked out very well for me in the end. $700 off the mattress I picked, hell yeah. I also clipped a few coupons (yeah I did) that were worth $100 each so overall I saved about a grand. Nice. Welcome to your Monday morning. I needed something to laugh at and just happened to have the perfect animated gif. Aside from Friday night the weekend’s been incredibly boring. Though there is surf I can’t go for fear of irritating the still pinched nerve in my lower back. So, I did a little shopping for stuff around the house – groceries, new dishes, curtains and bed pillows. Boring. Today I spent most of the day sunning my lazy ass by the pool hanging out with neighbors.
