I finally had a chance to swing by the brand new family and home of Dean and Jenny and who can forget little Elliot. Still so weird to think of Deano as a “pappa” but he wears it well. The new pad is really cool as well and I’m looking forward to the open house party (when ever they have time to host one, hint hint). Anyway it was great to see them all again even though it was a short visit. Geez it seems like everyone’s got kids now – must be getting old. Ramil’s got a little one, my boss Bill has a new baby girl, Adam now has a new baby boy along with a toddling daughter, Wade, Sam, Jay, and of course Dean.... Permalink

By now I’m really jonzin’ for some waves. Any mention of surf and the old ears perk up like a puppy hearing the dogfood bag open. This morning while watching the Weather Channel (I hate normal news, so depressing) I saw something promising. No, it’s not a tropical storm but the winds are out of the ENE at 20-25 mph… minor wind chop. Really minor but at this point I’ll take what I can get. Ok, so not much happening in the news right now. No surf in the near future so I’ve been spending more and more time in they gym. Even though Friday’s Tampa trip was a bust we still had a great time just bombing around Delray. Friday night was happy hour at the Cove in Deerfield. Place was packed but still a great time. From there we headed to Atlantic in Delray to Eros, a cool little Greek place that used to be Mano e’ Mano. After losing the group we caught up with everyone at Bull Bar then home, safe and sound. As I returned home from work yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to see a package under my door mat. My shiny new Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph had finally arrived. Though I just ordered it on Saturday. Ever since the slow but inevitable demise of my old <a href=“http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=145&modelid=14216”>Canon SD40</a> I’ve been in need of a great “point and shoot” style camera. That’s right, it’s officially the first day of Summer which means more surf flatness for us poor, lowly South Floridians. According to ShrimpCreole.com (a surf site) there’s a weak possibility of some really minor surf over the weekend but I’m not going to hold my breath. It feels like it’s been so long since I paddled out at Delray for a chop session. It’d be nice to get back in the water for a change, and not just taking a dip in my pool. Looks like the weekend’s already planned out for us. Still working on the details but it looks like we’re heading out to Tampa on Friday night. Hopefully I can take off an hour early from here and get on the road for the four hour trip through Yee-haw Junction (that’s the center of bum f**cked Florida). It’ll be two blondes and I. Once we get there we’re planning on meeting up with my buddy Jay and one of their friends who lives in South Tampa. Sounds like an adventure to me. Something new’s always good. Yeah, I haven’t quite gotten irritated with the scruff just yet. Thought I’d give it another week if I could but it’ll probably be gone if a meeting comes up or something important. It’s not looking too bad though I wish it would come in a bit thicker. Watch what you wish for I guess – I could end up looking like the freaking wolf man if I’m not careful. The weekend was pretty much just that, laid back. Nice and relaxing. Saturday night I actually went to bed early and slept for almost 12 hours… and it was good. Friday night I met up with some friends in Delray for a cool night out, spent some time by the pool on Sunday and generally just mellowed out all weekend.
