Dean and Family

I finally had a chance to swing by the brand new family and home of Dean and Jenny and who can forget little Elliot. Still so weird to think of Deano as a “pappa” but he wears it well. The new pad is really cool as well and I’m looking forward to the open house party (when ever they have time to host one, hint hint). Anyway it was great to see them all again even though it was a short visit. Geez it seems like everyone’s got kids now – must be getting old.
Ramil’s got a little one, my boss Bill has a new baby girl, Adam now has a new baby boy along with a toddling daughter, Wade, Sam, Jay, and of course Dean.
Surf… Who Said Surf?

By now I’m really jonzin’ for some waves. Any mention of surf and the old ears perk up like a puppy hearing the dogfood bag open. This morning while watching the Weather Channel (I hate normal news, so depressing) I saw something promising. No, it’s not a tropical storm but the winds are out of the ENE at 20-25 mph… minor wind chop. Really minor but at this point I’ll take what I can get. The cams are showing some small wind swell but the tide’s a bit too high right now for it to be rideable. Unfortunately the tide doesn’t look so good after work either but there’s always hope. The wind’s due to change direction and speed by end of day but it will remain on-shore for the most part.
WetSand.com, the optimistic website that it is, is calling for 3-4 surf sometime over the weekend but I have a feeling it’s for spots like Ft. Peirce north. If it’s really 3-4 ft. I think I’ll have to make the drive up. Until then we’re just daydreaming…

Ok, so not much happening in the news right now. No surf in the near future so I’ve been spending more and more time in they gym. I found this yesterday and thought it was pretty funny so I thought I’d share. Enjoy!
These are our (Men) rules!
Please note.. these are all numbered “1″
ON PURPOSE!
1. Men are NOT mind readers.
1. Learn to work the toilet seat.
You’re a big girl. If it’s up, put it down.
We need it up, you need it down.
You don’t hear us complaining about you leaving it down.
1. Sunday sports. It’s like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.
Let it be.
1. Shopping is NOT a sport.
And no, we are never going to think of it that way.
1. Crying is blackmail.
1. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!
Pretty Good Weekend

Even though Friday’s Tampa trip was a bust we still had a great time just bombing around Delray. Friday night was happy hour at the Cove in Deerfield. Place was packed but still a great time. From there we headed to Atlantic in Delray to Eros, a cool little Greek place that used to be Mano e’ Mano. After losing the group we caught up with everyone at Bull Bar then home, safe and sound.
Saturday was a day full of air conditioned naps on the couch watching movie since the temperature outside was around 97. Holy crap it was hot this weekend. Sunday was a car wash early and then down to the flatness that is Delray. Lunch at Bostons and drinks at one of Jamie’s friend’s houses. A movie at home and we’re good. Nice weekend. Click the image above to see how the new camera held up. Not too many shots because the new memory card didn’t arrive yet but I got some pretty good ones.
The New Camera Arrives

As I returned home from work yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to see a package under my door mat. My shiny new Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph had finally arrived. Though I just ordered it on Saturday. Ever since the slow but inevitable demise of my old Canon SD40 I’ve been in need of a great “point and shoot” style camera. And we all know my affinity for Canon digital cameras as this will now be my fourth. This one promises to be a sturdy as my old SD200 that I had for years until Barrie dumped water all over it. Now I’ve just got to wait for the 2GB card to arrive from Buy.com and then I’ll really be in business.
