Feeling a little sick since the weekend and though I know it’s not the cause of it, I’m sure it didn’t help. Like a head cold, soar scratchy throat, sinus pressure and generally just feeling drained. On top of that the past two nights I’ve gotten very little rest though I went to bed fairly early last night. I just feel worn out. Tropical depression number 4 I think it’s currently called but things look favorable for a tropical storm and or hurricane in the next week or two. Of course it’ll probably hit right when I take off for home but we’ll see. I hope at the very least it’ll generate some surf in the next couple weeks. The current track has it heading right for south Florida but it’s still three days away from even hitting land out in the Atlantic. It’s the big red dot off the west coast of Africa.... Permalink

While sitting by the pool on Saturday morning I was going text happy catching up with and making plans for my trip back home I got a bright idea. “Maybe I’ll head down to South Beach this weekend if Mark’s in town”. And that’s exactly what happened. Jordanna, Mark’s girlfriend (pictured), had free bracelets to get into what used to be Mansion in South Beach for some law student’s thing. Yeah, yeah, I finally broke down and bought some Just for Men. Yeash, I was going gray and at 30 that’s a bad thing. I washed the nasty stuff in yesterday morning and to be honest, no one in the office even noticed. Guess my hair’s not on their priority list, haha. Ah well, it’s a change. I was thinking about shaving it all off but maybe I’ll wait till the end of summer for that. Yeah, I may just need to get the hell out of here for a weekend. My Mom called last night and let me know that SkyBus has tickets for $110 from Ft. Lauderdale to Columbus whereas most other airlines are still right around the $600 range making it virtually impossible to make a quick weekend trip to visit friends and family. So, I may just have to head home and get a dose of the midwest once again. It looks like I’ll be looking at the weekend of the 25th but I’ve still got to check with the boss man... Continue Reading

It’s definitely been no picnic down here over the last couple of months. So let me take a moment and vent. Summers down here are windless, surfless scorchers and to be honest the lack of surf lately has me more bummed out than one might imagine. it’s my outlet, my connection, my passion. Patiently waiting for something better, something good, something fun. Surf is a waiting game when it’s off and patience begins to wear on you. After walking into the Apple store this morning I was unhappily greeted by a sales associate who informed me and everyone else waiting to get in that the so called “Genius Bar” required an appointment and if you didn’t have one you needed to make one.
