Rainy Wednesday
Not much going on today in the way of sun, surf or any kind of outdoor activity. Kind of dreary to be honest but no worries. For the first time in a while I actually feel pretty rested this morning. Hopefully I’ll have a chance sometime this coming weekend to get out and surf or at least take a nap by the pool. After all summer’s no longer around and fall is here. Which means the long, flat, waveless summer is season is almost over and we’ll be seeing the fall and winter swell begin moving in from the north. Whoo hoo. I’ve actually decided to keep my 7’7″ McTavish rounded pin tail surfboard in the office (I think) for those days that I want to hit Palm Beach for a ride or two right after work. Now… where to put it.... Permalink

We’ve Moved!
We at THAT Agency moved down the hall over the weekend into a huge space. Huge. Our old office had five of us in a small room, now we’ve got plenty of space. Nice work Bill. We’ve also got a full kitchen now, private workspaces, Nerf guns, temperature control (our old office someone in the building would jack up the thermostat to about 95 every day) and as an added bonus a rec room with a 40″ flat panel display and Nintento Wii. I even have a window now, pretty flippin’ sweet! Still have to get used to walking into... Continue Reading

Missed It Again
Minor swell was on tap for most of the day yesterday but after the last few days I didn’t have the energy or will to bust my ass to get down to the beach to catch a few leftovers. Ramil’s surf report was encouraging but he said the best surf yesterday was mid day. Of course I was chained to the desk working away on Sol Melia but that’s the way of the world. I’ll catch the next swell. Hopefully I can talk the group here into rallying the boss man to let us get out of work an hour... Continue Reading

The Family Went To Seattle
Welcome back Mom and Sis. They both headed out to Seattle to visit my aunt Dot who’s been out on the west coast for as long as I can remember. Sheizka was planning to go out and visit but my Mom showing up was the big surprise since she refuses to get on a plane….ever. Needless to say my aunt Dot was happily surprised to see her younger sister show up at the airport. I know it was a short trip but I’m sure you all had a blast. Welcome home. One of these days I’ll have to make it... Continue Reading

More Break-Ins
As I got home last night I decided to walk over to the mail box (instead of changing and cruising over on the skateboard) and I saw two more neighbors replacing doors. At first I thought maybe they were just putting new doors on as a precaution but noooooo, they tore apart two more doors and made off with personal property. That now makes 5 in my building, 2 in building 10 and two in building 9. A grand total of 9. These guys are good. Wish I could catch them though I don’t think they’d like that very much.... I’m Surrounded By…
Love mornings like this. I don’t know how many times I called someone a dumb shit on the way to work today but it was definitely enough. I woke up early this morning to swing by the drycleaners to pick up some shirts and pants I dropped off last Thursday. Normally they have them back by Monday morning but the place was purchased by someone else and now I’m beginning to have my doubts. He said, “they’ll be ready Monday at 4″. Obviously I can’t get in there before they close at six so I decided to give him an... Continue Reading

Flatness Returns
It was a good weekend of surf but the outlook for the upcoming week is pretty minimal, even up coast. No worries, I’m so busy with everything else right now I don’t have time to think about surfing though the boards rest on my walls taunting me. Meanwhile it’s weird dreams of Billy Bob Thornton playing an acoustic guitar from a motorized wheelchair while trying to show me how to start a fire for a grill by using a piece of broken glass and a crystal of some kind. Don’t ask, I have no idea. I’ve been having some weird... Continue Reading

Surf and Sun Once Again
Ah, so good to be back in the water once again. I got the call on Saturday morning that Jupiter was working at 3-4 feet so I packed the log and headed north. Though the surf was fast and breaking shallow I managed to catch my fair share of good rides before being pounded into the sand. Thahn-Ha and her friend drove up from Lauderdale to join me and we surfed for a few hours before exhaustion set in. I’m pretty beaten and bruised but it was worth it. So good in fact that I made a second run up... Continue Reading
