Sunny Friday Morning

Good morning world. Friday morning and I’m stoked the week’s almost over. No surf in the forecast but it’s all good. Looks like it’s going to be a sunny one again and I can’t wait. Happy hour’s only 9 hours away.
On another note, hurricane season starts in just two days! Yeah, it’s here already and pretty much last till late October (I think). Fun fun! Hopefully we’ll have some surf before the first hurricane heads our way.
Working on the New Site

Well I’ve been pretty busy skinning the WordPress thing. It’s actually pretty cool and very customizable. Hopefully my design will be fully realized and moving over the next couple weeks. In the meantime it’s just going to be under development.
Once it’s up it’ll be part blog, part full self promotional website.
Memorial Day Weekend

Overall a pretty good weekend. Seems like I’m a bit “grilled” out but it was definetly a cool relaxing weekend for a change. Friday night was happy hour with Jo and her co-workers down at Nobles. It would be a great place if I was still a smoker but fortunately I’m not. It’s the only place in downtown you can sit in a bar and smoke so the place just reeks of smoke. After that it was off to Roccos for a bite then up to O’Sheas for a finisher.
Saturday was a slow start but decided to hit the pool. Chad, my neighbor invited me over to the grill and the weekend of eating way too much food began. We grilled out Saturday, Sunday and Monday for both lunch and dinner every day. All the while we were sunning ourselves by the pool and drinking beer. Can’t get much more relaxing than that.
Monday night we had a big blowout with several neighbors in the building, large spread of food like chicken, steak, ribs, potato salad. Hell I even made Skyline Dip! By then nobody was really putting the beers away since we were all pretty much tired from the entire weekend in the sun.
I honestly think I put on like 5 pounds over the course of four days. Ah well, back to the grind and back to the gym!
Cough That Won’t Quit

Ok, so after a week of coughing I finally made a doctor’s appointment and headed to Doctor Beck, here in Palm Beach. He gave me some anti-cough syrup and some antibiotics (I think). I can tell you one thing, one of them can knock you on your ass. I took the syrup last night and it’s like being on pain killers or something. Just a little out of it and let me tell you, some f’d up dreams.
Yesterday seemed to be the day to get things done around here. Over the weekend a couple rocks smacked my windshield and gave couple good cracks so yesterday I finally got SafeLite Auto Glass to come out and take care of it. Last time a window was broken in my car I had to pay for it out of pocket. So this time I wanted to get a couple quotes. I had originally called over the weekend and set up an appointment for Monday but when they called Monday they notified me that my insurance would pick up the bill if I gave them a call. Needless to say my original appointment was out the window and the new one was set up for yesterday. SafeLite did an excellent job once again.
Am I rambling, I think I’m rambling… geez this cough syrup is some goofy stuff. Hopefully this cough and sinus pressure passes in the next day or so.
No More Surf

Well it looks like the weekend was pretty flat after Friday. Friday was the last of the local swell and at least I had a chance to hit Palm Beach after work. Three to five feet on the sets and clean, oh so clean faces. The drift subsided and swell kept coming in. I checked out the Boca cam yesterday just to check how bad it had gotten and I was wondering what lake that actually was. So flat it’s ridiculous. The wind’s out of the west so it’s keeping all of the surf pretty flat.
Surfline’s not calling for much over the next week or so though the wind’s due to change directions back to north east which should give us some chop at the very least. Whether or not it’s rideable is another story.
