Still Waiting for Surf
The summer’s been pretty much a waiting game. I’m still waiting for the first tropical storm of the season to bring us some surf. Any surf! It’s been over a month since I last hit the beach with surf intentions. It’s frustrating to say the least. Even though it’s been great having my brother down it’s been a challenge (for both of us I’m sure). Maybe it I had a two bedroom instead of him sleeping on my couch; or maybe if he’d had some luck in this terrible job market getting a job, the summer may have been so much better. My challenge comes from lack of “space” in my house and getting used to someone being there 24/7. I guess it just takes some getting used to no matter who you are. If I at least had some surf I’d have some time to myself out on the surf every evening but that’s not going to happen any time soon. Every surf report reads the same thing….. Flat.... Permalink

WordPress for the iPhone
So this morning I downloaded WordPress for the iPhone which was just released Tuesday and so far it’s pretty cool. As a matter of fact this is my first post using it. Not too bad. I do need to figure out how to add external links using this though. In the meantime head over to WordPress.org for the plugin. Update: here’s the link for those of you interested in downloading it. It automatically opens the iTunes store. WordPress for the iPhone... Permalink

Unkown Error On The iPhone
Ok so every time I try and update or upgrade an application on my iPhone I get this “Unknown Error: 0xE800002E. After some adjustments I was able to find a method to resolve, or at least update my apps. Here’s the key: 1. Go to Applications in iTunes under your iPhone panel 2. Set the applications sync manually and only choose the ones that aren’t giving you problems. This will remove the troubled apps from the phone completely. 3. Sync up the phone. 4. Go back into the Applications tab of your iPhone and reselect the ones that were just... Continue Reading

The Dark Knight!
Even though I was a bit under the weather this weekend I still couldn’t miss the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight”. Mike bought IMAX tickets last week so I had to go. The verdict – outstanding! Heath Ledger stole the show for sure. Amazing! Great story line, plot twists and an overall hand wringer. You never know what’s going to happen next. I’d probably go see this one again.... Permalink

Loving My iPhone
I’m sure you’re all pretty tired the whole iPhone hype by now but I’ve gotta tell you, I love this phone. It does everything (except copy/past and run flash). If you roam around Lifehacker and Gizmodo I’m sure you’ll find lists and lists of great software apps and downloads for the phone. There’s not much missing in this iteration of the “Jesus Phone” (I didn’t make that up). The only drawback I’ve found so far is me getting used to using the keyboard and the fact that the BlueTooth headset by Apple wouldn’t stay in my ear and kept falling... Continue Reading

Hancock the Movie
Mike and I had a chance to watch watch Hancock (right after Hellboy) and it was pretty good. Story line wasn’t bad but they gave away too much in the previews. I probably won’t add it to the collection but I may get via Netflix next year. It probably seemed even better compared to Hellboy, but then again almost anything could be good after that catastrophe.... Permalink

Hellboy II Sucked
It’s been a while since I’ve seen a movie that sucked this bad but, wow. The first one was alright but this one absolutely awful. They tried to add two love stories with characters no one really cared about. Honestly they forgot what audience they were catering to. Contrived humor and bad jokes it was a chore to watch. They added a new member tot the already mediocre crew of so called super heroes, a collection of smoke in a stupid gas suite. I’m sure I could go on and on about how bad this movie sucked. One last thing... Continue Reading

STOKED!!! iPhone Day!!
Never thought a gadget could get me this pumped but the new iPhone has done it for sure. After dragging my ass out of bed at 6:30 am I skipped breakfast in leu of coffee and granola bars and hauled ass to the AT&T store across 95. When I got there around 7:15 and there were already 24 people in line. Yeah, I counted them. So I grabbed my stuff and sat down and watched Sprout, a really cool surf movie. Around 7:30 a woman came around handing out sheets with information on plans and had us all write down... Continue Reading

Patience…
Has never been one of my strong suites. I finally heard back from my inside guy over at AT&T and it looks like I’ll have to wait with the rest of them. I had asked if he could grab one off of the shelf and hold it for me but it looks like they’ve got two armed policeman guarding the locked storage door where the iPhones are kept. Crazy, right? He says he doubts they’ll run out and will try and hold one if he gets a chance, still he has no idea how many he actually has back there.... Continue Reading
