Still Waiting for Surf

The summer’s been pretty much a waiting game. I’m still waiting for the first tropical storm of the season to bring us some surf. Any surf! It’s been over a month since I last hit the beach with surf intentions. It’s frustrating to say the least.
Even though it’s been great having my brother down it’s been a challenge (for both of us I’m sure). Maybe it I had a two bedroom instead of him sleeping on my couch; or maybe if he’d had some luck in this terrible job market getting a job, the summer may have been so much better. My challenge comes from lack of “space” in my house and getting used to someone being there 24/7. I guess it just takes some getting used to no matter who you are. If I at least had some surf I’d have some time to myself out on the surf every evening but that’s not going to happen any time soon. Every surf report reads the same thing….. Flat.
Wordpress for the iPhone

So this morning I downloaded Wordpress for the iPhone which was just released Tuesday and so far it’s pretty cool. As a matter of fact this is my first post using it. Not too bad.
I do need to figure out how to add external links using this though. In the meantime head over to Wordpress.org for the plugin.
Update: here’s the link for those of you interested in downloading it. It automatically opens the iTunes store. Wordpress for the iPhone
Unkown Error On The iPhone

Ok so every time I try and update or upgrade an application on my iPhone I get this “Unknown Error: 0xE800002E. After some adjustments I was able to find a method to resolve, or at least update my apps. Here’s the key:
1. Go to Applications in iTunes under your iPhone panel
2. Set the applications sync manually and only choose the ones that aren’t giving you problems. This will remove the troubled apps from the phone completely.
3. Sync up the phone.
4. Go back into the Applications tab of your iPhone and reselect the ones that were just removed.
5. Resync the phone and the troubled apps should then be reset and uploaded to your iPhone and you’re back in business.
I had contacted Apple about the issue but they were un-able to find a solution so I hope this helps anyone else out there who’s been having this problem.
The Dark Knight!

Even though I was a bit under the weather this weekend I still couldn’t miss the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight”. Mike bought IMAX tickets last week so I had to go.
The verdict – outstanding! Heath Ledger stole the show for sure. Amazing! Great story line, plot twists and an overall hand wringer. You never know what’s going to happen next. I’d probably go see this one again.
Loving My iPhone

I’m sure you’re all pretty tired the whole iPhone hype by now but I’ve gotta tell you, I love this phone. It does everything (except copy/past and run flash). If you roam around Lifehacker and Gizmodo I’m sure you’ll find lists and lists of great software apps and downloads for the phone. There’s not much missing in this iteration of the “Jesus Phone” (I didn’t make that up). The only drawback I’ve found so far is me getting used to using the keyboard and the fact that the BlueTooth headset by Apple wouldn’t stay in my ear and kept falling out, so invariably I had to return it. My favorite apps so far:
WeatherBug: Full weather reports with radar mapping
AIM: Instant message client
BofA: Bank of America access through a secure app
Remote: Controls my computer’s iTunes and Movies remotely
Pandora: Free radio station on the iPhone
NYTimes: The New York Times for news
SmugShot: Take and Geotag photos, then instantly upload them to your SmugMug account (my online photo album – see below)
YouTube: duh, online video
And of course the limitless fun of full iTunes with video, photos, podcasts and of course half my mp3 music collection.
