That’s right, the first named storm to come close to south Florida this year is on her way. Looks like she’ll be arriving in Ft. Meyers sometime Tuesday night after cutting straight across Key West. The track does vary from day to day but overall it’s going to be heading straight up the center of the state (as of 7pm tonight, I think). At the very least it may give us some much needed surf once it makes it’s way over to the Atantic and then north. Let’s hope it sits out there for a few days. Surfline’s forecasted 3-4 surf later this week so that’s a plus. Until then it look like a couple days of rain. I actually had chance to surf today and man did it feel good to get back in the water. It’s been over 9 weeks since I last took a surfboard down to the beach. Little 2 foot rollers with an occasional 3 footer coming through. Perfect for pig dogging the longboard. Lots of good rides and a welcome relief to an otherwise drought ridden summer when it comes to waves. 9 weeks is tool long to go without surf for sure. Image...

Trying to make a change…. That’s the problem with drinking, I thought, as I poured myself a drink. If something bad happens you drink in an attempt to forget; if something good happens you drink in order to celebrate; and if nothing happens you drink to make something happen. - Charles Bukowski...

Thank you…. The Dragon: Dragons are too powerful to be real. They are bigger-than-life, and can be tremendously egotistical. Although they breath fire, dragons are soft and vulnerable underneath. The are greedy and generous, critical and approving. They speak harshly at times, but are just as quick to beg forgiveness. Dragons mellow with age (let’s hope)., but never lose their elemental power. Dragons make fiery and passionate romantic partners, but they need room to spread their wings at times. All the same, Dragons prefer their own lairs to the spacious skies, even though they’re at home in both. Found this...

I’ve been dying for some new music lately so in my search I’ve come across a great band out of the UK called the Kooks. What a great band. Kind of reminds me of the strokes but not quite a hard around the edges (Mom, probably not a band you’d listen to). One song in particular caught my interest and I’ve have it up here if it wasn’t for the copyright BS. If you’ve got iTunes you can check it out there. The song’s called “Shine On”on the new album Konk. If not check out the Kook’s site....

Well it’s been a rough few days. Monday was Mike’s last day in town and I dropped him off at the airport safe and sound early in the morning. I was sad to see him go but honestly it’s good to have my place back. It’s taken a couple days to get things clean again but it’s getting there. Now it’s just freelance, restocking the fridge and finishing up laundry. I know exciting stuff right? Monday night was weird to say the least. No Trish, no Mike and it was eerily quiet in my house. Almost at no point in...
