Happy birthday Trish. Just wanted to send out a quick birthday wish to one of the most beautiful people I know, inside and out. May it be a wonderful day.
What A Letdown

Looks like Fay didn’t leave too much to have fun with after she left late last night. I know, sounds like I’m talking about a girlfriend but I’m not. Tropical storm Fay moved across the state yesterday basically dumping us with over 7 inches of rain (which made an interesting walk to work) but as far as swell goes, we’re back down to 1-2ft here in Palm Beach. I guess I can go ahead and take my board off of my car now…
Surfline was calling for 4-6 foot surf mid-day today but with the strong offshore winds I doubt we’ll get much. I’ll try and keep an eye on the cams and reports in the hopes that there will be something rideable after work but at this point it’s a slim chance. Looks like we’re back to waiting for the next tropical storm.

Looks like the “eye of Fay” just passed over Naples early this morning and it’s pretty much on it’s way. Right now it’s just dumping rain on us and has been all night so I’m sure there’s some serious street flooding this morning. I had to dig out some old boots for the walk to work this morning (I ruined my new brown shoes yesterday walking through the rain) as it’s going to be a wet one. No word from the boss as to whether or not we’re coming in today but I’ve already heard from two coworkers asking if I’d heard anything. From the looks of the map we may have half day today or tomorrow.
Surf’s about 3-4 ft, waist to chest high and slop (basically unrideable).
Ah That Felt Good

So my wireless router has been giving me grief pretty much since I moved to West Palm. Tonight was no exception. As I was trying to write my latest post (not this one) the router was acting up once again. Luckily we have a several networks available to us here in the building and one in particular seems to work quite well from time to time.
So, what felt good you may ask? Taking a very large hammer to the damn wireless router. I calmly walked to the closet, grabbed a very large roofers hammer and walked into my room and smashed the shit out of it. And that felt really really good. Over the last few weeks I really needed something like that to just destroy.

That’s right, the first named storm to come close to south Florida this year is on her way. Looks like she’ll be arriving in Ft. Meyers sometime Tuesday night after cutting straight across Key West. The track does vary from day to day but overall it’s going to be heading straight up the center of the state (as of 7pm tonight, I think). At the very least it may give us some much needed surf once it makes it’s way over to the Atantic and then north. Let’s hope it sits out there for a few days. Surfline’s forecasted 3-4 surf later this week so that’s a plus. Until then it look like a couple days of rain.
I actually had chance to surf today and man did it feel good to get back in the water. It’s been over 9 weeks since I last took a surfboard down to the beach. Little 2 foot rollers with an occasional 3 footer coming through. Perfect for pig dogging the longboard. Lots of good rides and a welcome relief to an otherwise drought ridden summer when it comes to waves. 9 weeks is tool long to go without surf for sure.
