Wind Blown Chop in West Palm

Posted on September 25, 2008

Right after work I decided to check the surf at Flagpole here in Palm Beach. Really drifty and blown out 4-5 footers and overall it looked like a complete mess. Such a mess, in fact, that I didn’t even take my board out of the car nor did I even change into swim trunks.

I had checked the surf report earlier in the day on my iPhone and it said 5-6 foot and poor+ conditions. There were two guys in the water giving it a go but they really weren’t catching much. That and the fact that they were drifting faster than they could paddle just looked like more work than fun.

So I decided to head home and (again) get some work done and hit the gym. Fun evening right?

Sunday Surf in West Palm

Posted on September 22, 2008

Yesterday yielded some decent surf up here in West Palm Beach. Waist to chest high on most sets with the occasional standout sets of head high slammers. I took the longboard out in the morning and the evening for a two hour session both times. Nice sets though the morning was really glassy and fun. The afternoon was a bit more choppy but still quite fun.

Ramil and Dan had a chance to get out in Delray but I couldn’t make the trip down this weekend. In between the surf sessions I had people over to my house to watch the Patriots game. My neighbor Chad’s a huge Pats fan and needless to say he wasn’t very happy with the fact that they got their asses handed to them by the freakin’ Dolphins. The Bengals came a bit closer but were also unable to seal the deal. At least my Ohio State Buckeyes won, pretty stoked about that but we should have played much better than we did.

As far as the rest of the week goes we should have some ridable surf the rest of the week. Sweet.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is Back

Posted on September 19, 2008

One of my favorite shows, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is finally back for another season. We caught two new ones back to back last night and they didn’t disappoint. The gang hatched up a few more schemes only to walk away with nothing, not even their dignity (if they have any) intact.

I’m normally not one for promoting TV shows but this one’s a keeper. Check it out on Thursdays at 10 on the FX channel.

Feel Better Mom

Posted on September 16, 2008

Recently my mom was in a car accident. Now before I get inundated with sorrowful emails I just know she’s ok and at home safe. She’s got a broken left collarbone and she’s still pretty bruised up but she’s OK. I just wish I could have been home so I can go give her a hug and see with my own eyes that she’s OK.

Feel better Mom, I love you.

Spawn of Surface

Congratulations to Bryan Surface who’s girlfriend had a beautiful baby girl last night around 7:25 pm. Rylee Elizabeth was 7lbs. 11oz. and 21 inches long. I’m still waiting for pictures of the new addition but I’m sure they’re busier getting things situated and getting ready for the long (hopefully joyful) road ahead.

Huge congratulations guys. I may just have to make a trip back home to Cincinnati to visit her.
