Letting Go

Posted on November 30, 2008

Well, it’s been a month since I last spoke to Trish and that conversation didn’t go very well to say the least. Today I sadly deleted her number from my phone. The temptation to call her has been growing over the last week or so, if only to see how she’s doing and to find out if she’s happy but that would be opening up a wound that should really heal. I know this is what’s best but as every relationship, it’s always hard letting go.

I think I miss her companionship the most but our relationship was destructive for both her and me. She’s a gorgeous person bot inside and out and most would say I was fool for letting her go and there are days I think so myself but it has to be this way. I just hope she’s happy now. As time passes I hope I can be as well.

Phil’s a Daddy!

Amy finally gave birth this morning to little Phin. Congratulations big guy, I’m sure you guys are totally stoked to have the little bundle of joy arrive, and just in time too. Phil just finished up the baby room project the other day. I can’t wait to meet the little fellow.

I’m not sure of the details yet, what time, how much did he weigh and all that stuff. What’s more important is he’s a healthy baby boy and he’s got a great Mommy and Daddy to take care of him. Congrats once again and good luck!

Gastroenteritis (Stomach Virus) Sucks

Posted on November 27, 2008

After breakfast yesterday I headed off to work only to really begin feeling like ass. Upset stomach, diarrhea, muscle aches and a mild fever and it only got worse throughout the day. Lunchtime I went home as usual but I really didn’t have an appetite. I was able to eat a pita and drink some juice but that was about it, and even then I couldn’t really keep it down. Not good.

My boss allowed us out of the office yesterday at 3 but I was only able to make it to around 2:40 before I was really feeling bad. So I went home, poured myself a hot bath and sat there for an hour trying to feel better.

All I could do was drink Gatorade and try and get comfortable. I missed the biggest party night of the year, even bigger than New Years because I didn’t fully cook my eggs.

This morning I’m feeling much better but honestly I’m still not that hungry. No Thanksgiving dinner for me I guess, looks l like I’ll have to wait till next year. There’s also no surf so my five year tradition of spending the day on the beach and surfing is out as well. Ah well, at least I’m not flu-ish anymore and I should be able to enjoy the rest of the day.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone – hope yours is better than mine.

Thanksgiving [Eve]

Posted on November 26, 2008

First off I’m thankful for a short week. It’s only Wednesday but it feels like Friday, I love it. Not much planned for the glutenous holiday. This will mark the end of a five year tradition of having a turkey sandwich on the beach and surfing all day, which is pretty much the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Spending time with family in cold weather while I’m el solo on the beach surfing.

I’m still checking the surf report as I haven’t totally given up yet but the forecast doesn’t look that good. We should have surf by the weekend but Turkey Day isn’t looking so good.

My buddy Mike invited me down to Lauderdale to chill with him and his friends tonight, I still need to hang out with Mark and show him how to play guitar and I haven’t really hung out with my boy Dean in quite a while either. No idea what’s up for tonight, only one guarantee…I’m getting drunk somewhere. What is it with the holidays that just makes you NEED a drink, haha.

So, everyone have a safe and happy Thanksgiving tomorrow, and if you’re traveling be careful.

Finally, the Camera Arrives (sort of).

Posted on November 25, 2008

It’s been around a year since my place was broken into and some son of a bitch stole my Canon Digital Rebel and now I finally got it back. Well, not the exact same camera but one that’s pretty close. After doing some research online I found what I was looking for which also came with a pack of additional items. A really nice 300mm lense, the 25mm/80mm Canon lense, a case, 4GB card, (crappy) tripod, extra battery and cleaning kit. One thing that was disappointing was it was supposed to come with a silver body, I got the black one. Not stoked, though I’m stoked to have a really good camera once again.

The card they sent didn’t work either so I was a little pissed to say the least so I headed down to BestBuy to check out some other cards just in case it was the camera. Luckily, they had a 4GB card that worked perfectly. Now I’ve just got to make a phone call and see what I can do about getting some cash back.

Overall, it’s the same camera I had before (just not silver dammit). Don’t get me wrong, I love the camera, just irritated it’s not exactly what I paid for.
