Kind of Bummed

Yeah, it’s a typical Monday I guess. It’s odd that from day to day it gets both better and worse. For some reason I feel hollow today like an empty shell of person. I know why and my daily schedule isn’t helping much.
I spend so much time alone every day it begins to wear on me. Even though I’m in the office amongst my co-workers we rarely converse, and it’s not just me. Almost all of us wear headphones at work; it helps concentrate and keep out distractions as well as making the day go by much quicker. The downside to this is of course we’re all in our own little worlds.
My walk to and from work, morning, lunch and end of day is also spent listening to my iPhone. Again, my own little world and even though there are people around me, it’s getting lonely.
Some times we all take solace in our “Alone Time” and I am certainly one of those people. Saturday was a nice break from myself with a house full of friends but sitting here now I feel the emptiness that’s haunted me for the last few weeks.
I know it’ll pass and there’s no real cure for it. It’s just got to run it’s course but in the meantime, it makes for another long empty Monday.
Quantum of Solace

I finally made the trip to Muvico and watched Quantum of Solace, the new James Bond flick. Pretty much non-stop action and overall a pretty good movie but I enjoyed the first one, Casino Royal much better.
This one is a continuation of the original and is chock full of adrenaline fueled chase scenes and witty banter. Bond’s counterpart for the better part of the movie is a gorgeous Bolivian girl who’s after a crooked Bolivian general who killed her parents. Reminds me of another Bond movie with Sean Connery.
Overall I’d probably add it to the DVD collection.
Ohio State vs. Michigan – Columbus, Florida

What a fun day. Ohio State kicked Michigan’s ass once again this year. I had a few people over for the game, all of which are from Ohio. What a great thing! I made some Skyline Dip and one of my neighbors brought over some chocolate peanut-butter buckeyes. It felt like I was back home in Ohio. We even managed to break out the cards and play Euchre (yooker) at half time, it was awesome. I haven’t played that game for 10 years. I wish I had more weekends like that. Next season I guess, haha. Here are the rest of the photos from the day, I didn’t take too many but at least I got a few.

Hoping for Some Surf

Well, we’re hoping for some surf but as of 6:30 tonight there wasn’t much to speak of. Surfline was calling for 3-4ft but as usual I couldn’t hit because of the 6pm work time. I had planned on getting up at 5:30 am, yeah that early, to make a dawn patrol out of tomorrow morning with Phil but I doubt it’s going to happen unless it picks up overnight. Looks as if I’ll still be getting up to check the cameras but more than likely I’ll be back in bed right after. There’s still hope.
