Whew, after weeks of calls dropping on my phone I finally decided enough was enough. I restored the phone twice from iTunes backups and still the problem persisted. So tonight I headed up to Palm Beach Gardens Mall to the Apple Store to see if they could take a look at it. At first they wanted me to make an appointment with the Genius Bar but the first available time slot (after 6pm) was Friday around 6:47. Screw that! So I persisted until they gave me a temporary slot in-between other customers. Kind of like stand-by on an airplane. I was in luck when after about 15 minutes I was called over. Nice. He plugged it in and basically said, “yup, it’s the phone. You’ve had a 30% call drop rate since you restored it on the 18 so it’s definitely the phone. I’ll give you a new one bro!” So stoked. He said one of the reasons he was just going to give me a new one is because I’m in the top 2% that actually uses the phone for everything, and an application called Omnifocus. I’ve been jamming out to Kings of Leon for a couple weeks now and I’m really digging their sound. Especially the new album, “Only by the Night”. One of my favorite tracks is Revelry; it kind of has a few different meanings for me but if you know me at all you’ll get it. Check them out here at KingsofLeon.com. The worst president in American History is finally leaving office after 8 long years of bullshit. The worst financial crisis since the 1930′s, worst recession since the 30′s, worst foreign policy and the fact that the idiot couldn’t pronounce simple words in a press conference let alone lead our country without screwing it all up. I’ll have to put it all to 537 confused elderly Floridians for this one. Thanks for the memories. Hopefully we’re on to better things with the upcoming administration. Only time will tell. Today’s Inauguration day for Barack Obama. My neighbors are throwing a little party around 6 or so. Not sure if I’m going to be able to make it but I’ll give it a shot. It kind of goes against the whole “not drinking during the week” thing but it’s a once in a lifetime event so… we’ll see.... Permalink

Friday night D. and I hit Muvico here in West Palm Beach before heading out for a few drinks. We were going to catch Gran Turismo but we missed the opening time by about 20 minutes. Defiance was pretty good, hell it had me a little weepy a few times. Yeah, I said it…weepy. I’m not sure I’d add it to the collection, sometimes once is enough for heavy hearted movies like this one but the story stands on it’s own. Good flick.... Permalink

I was hoping for surf but even though the forecast said we have surf, none of the beach cameras were showing. Friday was the only night I ended up going out this weekend so I’m trying to hold true to the goals for the year. I basically did nothing after Friday night and I do mean nothing.... Permalink

Yeah, so January first wasn’t really good for me to get started on my New Years resolutions. Funny, huh? It happens. So now I’m aiming for Monday, yes Monday of next week to really get things rolling. Here are a few of my resolutions: Only go out one night on the weekends Build back up ye olde savings account Stop smoking when out at a bar Not to go out during the week Join club Ultima (local gym) – I know it’s money to spend but maybe it’ll motivate me to actually go more than once a week Get back... Giving Twitter a try once more. If you look to the right of this post you’ll see my “Twitter” activity. Little tidbits, thoughts and what-not throughout the day. I know I’ve been slacking this week but it’s been a busy one. I’ll try and keep up the twitter stuff since it a tiny application I can run from my desktop and iPhone that easily updates the blog. It’s Friday once again and the weekend’s upon us, and we all know how much I love my weekends. At least the one I don’t ruin by hitting the bars too hard on Friday. No plans yet but my buddy Chad’s in town so at least I’ll have a wingman (sort of). One good thing is that there may be some surf though I may have to head up Jupiter once again to get it.
