Yesterday after the gym my new business cards finally arrived via UPS. I ordered them from UPrinting.com and they came out great. Heavy gloss stock and at a good price as well. Not sure I really needed 1000 but hey, why not. It only costs a little over $30 for 1000, full color front and black back. Nice job guys. I’ll probably reshoot them once I get more time....

On my way back up the coast I ran into the boys on Delray beach for a quick catch-up session and photo opp. Great to see all of us together once again. It’s rare and now that Dan’s out of town it’s even more rare. I can’t wait till we’re all sitting in the lineup in Delray once again for a big swell surf session. Shaka!...

Once again I missed my normal Monday morning weekend but this time for good reason. It was a long weekend and as usual I made it a point to enjoy it, weekends are too precious. Friday night I went out with Marco from De Napoli and we pretty much did the town. Rocco’s, Lost Weekend, Feelgoods and Monarchy. We actually ran into Brett (ex-bartender from Rocco’s) and hung out with him for some time. Saturday I headed down to hang out with Annette, Vince and their friend Erin who was in town from Chicago at the beach Condo in Highland...

With the extra time I’ve been spending more and more time updating and polishing my online portfolio site in order to increase my odds of actually surviving this economic downturn. The site is a primary means of gathering possible freelance clientele and/or landing a new position as a Senior Designer/Developer at a South Florida web design firm. The site includes examples of my work both in the design and development realms as well as planning and site maintenance projects. A full skill-set and resume are also included. There are still quite a few adjustments that need to be made to...

Yesterday Surfline was calling for 4-5 ft here in West Palm so around 2pm I headed down to Flagpole to check the surf. It looked semi-rideable but definitely not 4-5 ft rideable. It looked as though the wind had really gotten on it and was mushing out. I had other things to do as well so I didn’t even suit up. Today Jupiter looks like a washing machine and Boca looks rough but rideable though I’m not making a trip that far south to catch a few waves. Gas costs money and I can’t afford to spend anything right now...

I hate doing these negative posts but this one’s got me very pissed off. I recently blew out my desk lamp, which is a fairly expensive Ott-Lite VisionSaver desklamp designed to not put any undue stress on your eyes while working at your desk. So I ordered one from BudgetLighting.com as it was the cheapest place I could find online. The online order system said it was in stock and I purchased a couple. This was the 13th…. Today I get an email only after asking where the hell my order is saying it’s on back-order till July 9th. I...

I made my way down to City Place over the weekend and finally saw X-Men origins. Excellent film and probably my favorite of the entire X-Men movie collection. It’s follows Wolverine and his brother Sabertooth through their very long and dangerous lives from early childhood, through every American war and up to the beginning of the Xavier School for Gifted Youths. You get the point. One thing I was fairly stoked about was the fact that they did show Wolverine’s original claws which were nothing more than bones jutting out from his hands, as opposed to the adimantium knives we’re...

Not much, just getting things sorted out so I can find some way to pay my bills after the grand economy takes a huge dump. More and more people are getting laid off and companies are closing their doors left and right. So many that there’s actually a Meetup/Convention down in Miami Saturday, June 6th regarding design professionals and the recent economic downturn. Freelance Camp/ LaidOff Camp Even though it’s all the way down in Miami it may be a good opportunity to network with others in our position and find out if there is indeed a light at the...

I had a chance the other night to head down to City Place and catch the newest installment of Star Trek. A movie that, like the latest few Batman movies has high hopes of reinvigorating a franchise. In that, I actually think it may have succeeded. Now I’ve never been much of a Star Trek fan, and really never watched any of the TV shows but I’ve sat through my fair share of Star Trek movies. This one is worth the movie ticket price. Loads of action, decent story line and talented cast add a stylish spin to an aging...
