What’s That?

I’ll bet first off you’re wondering what the hell the photo above actually is. I just thought this one came out kind of interesting. I was in the process of trying to take some new portrait shots for my site, twitter feed, etc. when I thought a nice dark background would work. The only place in my house that can be used as a dark background really was my bedroom curtain. So I set up the tripod and put the Canon on a 10second delay. Set the light settings, aperture, etc and snapped the shot. The only problem is F-stop was way off and I’d surely come out blurry, so I turned and quickly opened the curtains thus creating the weird image above.
Still No Surf, Hello Summer

Even though the weather has been turbulent as of late, there’s still no real surf which is a good thing and a bad thing. At this point I need distractions to get me out of the house. I’ve been making it a point to run at least one errand every day whether it be to Publix for groceries or something else. Surf would be a welcome distraction but I guess something’s telling me to stay home and get some work done.
Currently Flagpole (local surf spot) here in West Palm is only showing 1-2ft on Surfline.
Something tells me it’s going to be an active hurricane season though we’ll see what comes up over the next couple weeks. As usual my favorites are the ones that miss us and head north, sending solid swell our direction. Crossing my fingers for a few of these this year.
Chugging Right Along

After yet another week on my own I’m still trying to make it happen. Keeping a close eye on finances and trying to limit the fun stuff to low budget outings and hanging by the pool or grilling with neighbors. Which is what the weekends are all about.
Other than that not much really to report. My primary focus is just to get as much done each day so I can survive in these tough times. Last week was kind of a bust but I’m hoping to make up for it this week, waking up early and just getting things done.
The weather’s been almost like clockwork every day. Gorgeous mornings and right around 2pm every day the sky opens up and either downpours or rains at the very least. Yesterday we got lucky in the afternoon and had a tow or three hour break, just enough time to throw some meat on the grill and get cooking.
So, that’s the news that’s “fit to report”, haha. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
