Not sure why this popped into my head today (probably the DMV) but I thought I’d share a not-so-famous rating system my buddy Sam and guys at WEBN ( a local radio station in Cincinnati ) came up with a very long time ago. The “M” Redneck Rating system. First off each M stands for one point so here goes: Mustache Mustang (car) Mullet Monte Carlo Mother’s Monte Carlo (2 m’s) Marathon (gas station) sunglasses Metallica t-shirt Muscle Car Motley Crue t-shirt Marlboro Red cigarette hanging of his mouth Marlboro clothing (anything will do) So by this scale you could potentially run across an M-8 or better. I know there were so many more I forgot to add but it’s a great summer time game to play at ballparks, monster truck rallies and Lynyrd Skynyrd concerts. So call ‘em out as you see ‘em!...

After months of no contact I finally got a reply from her. Just really happy she’s doing OK and today’s her birthday. I hope it’s a great one!...

Looks like I’m heading home for the first time in over two years. I’ve decided to drive back to save a bit of money. At least that way I’ll have my car to cruise around in instead of some crappy little rental car. For the most part I’ll be spending time with my family and making sure things are going well there. I do plan on coming into Cincinnati for Saturday night to catch up with old friends. Hopefully I’ll have enough time to see everyone I can while I’m home. It’s going to be a working vacation as I...

Saturday was a rough morning but we made it happen. Ramil, Spencer and I packed it up and headed north for Ft. Peirce. It’s only about an hour or so north of my house here in West Palm but it was well worth it. Most sets were right around 4-5 ft but almost all of them were closeout sets so all you got was a good drop, maybe one turn before it completely imploded on you. It was fun as hell though just to get in the water and take a beating like that. The crowd was typical Ft. Peirce....

I know most people are usually up in arms when it comes to hurricanes around here but surfers are not. This looks like it’ll be the perfect storm for us South Florida surfers. It’s been a doldrum of surf over the past few months. Yeah, I said “months”, which as of a few years ago, unheard of. It seems like just 3-4 years ago I’d still be able to surf at least once a week during the summer but this summer has been really vacant of that much needed surf outlet. Hopefully it comes a bit closer than the projected...

One step closer to being up on two wheels. I had an appointment today with the local shithole, I mean DMV. Luckily I knew to make an appointment, otherwise I’d still be standing in line. I should have brought my earbuds for the iPhone though since the innane conversations I had to endure were really beginning to wear on me. At least the woman behind the counter was nice and didn’t seem to be worn down by her day to day routine. Anyway, I now have the official motorcycle endorsement on my license (new picture as well) so that’s one...

Trish was once my girlfriend and one of my best friends. Over the last few months I’ve been thinking about her a lot. She now has a boyfriend and I’m very happy for her but honestly I’m a bit worried. Weeks ago we had made plans to hang out and catch up and after several attempts of contacting her I have yet to receive one response. No text, phone call or even email. I honestly hope she’s doing OK and nothing bad has happened to her. I still hold a very special place for her, there’s no one I’ve ever...

Recently I added a script to close comments on my archives and older pages but for some strange reason it was messing up the CSS layout so I turned it off. I’ve also removed the Excerpt feature built into my archives page which only showed a brief bit of copy for each entry. I’ve fixed that as well so now all of my archives are full posts, images, etc. Take a look through all of my old stuff with ease now. On the right you’ll see a dropdown for every month I’ve been writing on this particular blog. All of...
