The Hangover… and No Not One of Mine
I was really dying to do something other than hang by the pool yesterday. I know we’ve got it pretty good down here but with the total lack of surf the weekends have become somewhat mundane and boring (can’t wait to get a bike for something else to do). So I decided to catch The Hangover, a hilarious movie about a bachelor party in Vegas. It was awesome, wish I’d seen it earlier. I walked down to Muvico by myself and got a great seat and took it all in. By far the best part of the movie was the rolling credits, which sounds odd but it explains the entire “missing” bachelor party. Basically none of the characters remember what the hell happened to them the night before, the groom is missing, there’s a baby in the closet, a tiger in the bathroom and a tiny Asian man in their trunk. Yeah, it’s a riot. Make sure you see the Hangover before it’s out of the theaters, otherwise you’ll just have to wait till it comes out on DVD.... Permalink

Where You’re Coming From
Through the magic of Google analytics I can pretty much tell where you’re coming from which is sometimes surprising. Like “who do I know in Texas, Utah and Louisiana? Not sure but welcome to my site! I’ve been running this thing for years and aside from some bad relationship mistakes (writing about them on here) and hate mail it’s been fun. If you’re reading this on Facebook there’s a good reason for it. This is actually coming from my personal blog at http://www.damienkomala.com/ , not originally written on Facebook. It’s a syndication thing I think but I digress. I just... Continue Reading

Think I Found the Bike I Want…Again
I know I’ve got months but when picking up my neighbor, Jamie at Broward Motorsports this morning (he had to drop his bike up for it’s first maint.) we headed back to the building only to see a great looking bike parked in the visitors lot of my building. What was it? It was a 2004 Suzuki SV650 (not sure about the year on the one parked in the lot), a nice clean “naked” sport bike. Most are within my price range and I’ve read some good reviews as well. Really nice looking bike. Now to find one on cycle... Continue Reading

Morning Coffee and (yes)… a Rainbow
I honestly haven’t seen a rainbow around here for a long time (except on car bumper stickers) so I had to snap a few shots this morning while enjoying my morning coffee on the balcony.... Permalink

Almost Aced It
The day was another hot one but it was fun. Rode all morning, more exercises and the big test. My only falter was the figure-8 = minus 3 points. The rest was great (I think). Hey at least I didn’t get a -20 (-21 is a fail) like one of the riders. From there it was on to more class work then a crossword puzzle (yes, crossword puzzle) which actually helped. Next came the written test. 100%…nice. Only a complete moron could fail this class though, there was one other way you could fail… drop the bike. During our test... Continue Reading

Motorcycle Classes – Day 1
So the first day of classes was pretty cool. We started out with an hour or so of book time then straight to the course. Of course I had to get up at 5:30 am so by the time it was time to get out of there I needed a serious nap. We started out on the very basics, walking the bike, getting used to the clutch and gradually moved up to riding around cones, corners, weaving, hard breaking, shifting gears, etc. Felt good to be on a bike and by the end the comfort level was nice. Some slow... Continue Reading
