This morning I woke to 73 degrees, a welcome change from the normal 80′s in the morning. I love fall around here, hell, except for daylight savings time I love winter around here as well. So crisp in the mornings, minimal rainfall and incoming surf. Even though it rarely gets into the 50′s I still love it. Today’s the last day of one of the toughest months I’ve had in recent memory. It’s been an odd year to say the least. Crossing my fingers this coming month will bring better fortune to all....

So in an attempt to cut expenses and save some money I decided to turn the Pathfinder back in on it’s lease a month early. I was almost 10,000 miles below the lease but the payments and insurance were becoming a burden I could no longer really afford. So last week I dropped off the ride back to the dealership. It was a sad day but hopefully things will turn around fairly soon. Everyone is hurting right now and I’m no exception. So many people have lost their jobs and are now struggling to just get by it’s really beginning...

So Primecast, our monopolized building dish service provider dropped the ball last night in a big way. I don’t watch too many shows but this is one I can’t miss. Last night about halfway through the new episode service was simply gone. The screen just sat there saying acquiring satellite signal step 0 of 5…. and nothing. So after 10 minutes of screwing with it, powering off, etc I gave them a call. Wow, Primecast sucks. I can’t believe they’re still in business. It’s such a rip-off and my building has a contract with them so we’re kind of screwed...

The brand new Axio Swift 2.0 backpack arrived yesterday and it’s really nice. Should be perfect for hauling stuff around on the motorcycle. It fits my 17″ laptop perfectly as well as my Canon Digital Rebel and extra 300mm lens. The stress of the last couple days kind of puts a damper on the mood though but I’m trying to focus on the positive things right now. It’s been a rough month. Not the first and probably not the last but I’m hoping for better days. At least this little item allows me to travel where I need to with...

Well the weekend is over once again and now it’s time to get back to it. Overall it was a decent weekend though Saturday was pretty much non-stop rain. Friday night was spent just hanging out with Vinny down at his place. Zak and I had to walk down to Roxy’s to watch the Ohio State game since it wasn’t on anywhere in the building. It was a blowout but then again it should have been. Yesterday was by far the best day of the weekend. The sun was out and Jamie and I went for a morning ride up...

Up until last night I had yet to take the new bike out at night. I’ve become pretty used to it so far so I geared up and headed over to Palm Beach (island) last night where there’s a really nice little spot along the beach where you can park but to my knowledge no one goes. There’s really no beach access and the wall you’d have to jump you probably couldn’t get back up once you made the leap. Regardless it was a nice escape last night and a nice little ride up the island. I just kind of...

Saturday morning I headed out to Palm Beach with my neighbor Bryan and his brother. Solid North East swell and clean. Most were in the waist to chest high range. The sets were a little bouncy but it was lining up perfectly. A couple key peaks were outstanding but after a full day of surfing I seem to have tweaked the hell out of my back. Now I can barely sit anywhere for a long period of time and I can hardly move. So much pain in my lower back I can’t stand it. I have a small fracture in...

I know, to some of you you probably already know. My old friend Marisa Calihan is on this season’s Survivor. I’m sure you’re excited, Mom! My mom’s been a huge Survivor fan for years so I’m sure she’ll be keeping a close eye on everything. Marisa has a Facebook Fan page as well so head over there and become a fan! Of course she’s not allowed to tell us anything about the season but I’m sure we’re all rooting for her. The pic above was taken one night at the Stand in Mt. Lookout (Cincinnati). I think it was Labor...
