Temperature during the photo above….76 degrees. The temperature this morning…49 degrees. Last night this shot was taken just before a massive torrential downpour in West Palm (from my balcony of course). Honestly I wasn’t really expecting this much of a temperature drop but here we go again. It may get into the 60′s later today, whoo hoo. I guess this is just the remnants of the huge blizzard cold front that hit the north about a week ago. Summer weather sure is taking it’s sweet-ass time getting back down here. It was great to have Mom and her friend Missy in over the weekend. I took them out downtown including Rocco’s (of course), then up to Lost Weekends, Monarchy, Dr. Feelgoods then off to Oshea’s. Needless to say they weren’t feeling so great the next day but we all had a good time. Saturday I took them for a drive out to the beach then up Palm Beach island to show them the enormous houses up there. Saturday night was the Waterfront opening downtown which was a zoo. It’s been a rough few days on the bike lately. After giving my SV650 a wash on Thursday the bike began acting up. Idle wouldn’t stay normal and it kept dying on me. I tried to take it for a ride on Thursday and ended up walking it back home through downtown West Palm. Fun fun. After talking to my Dad I checked all the hoses, vacuum lines, lifted the tank and checked the airbox and air filter. Looks like we’re going to enjoy more surf over the next few days. I made an evening run out to the beach before sundown yesterday and caught a few guys out at La Puerta on Palm beach catching some nice clean 3-4 beauties. Mild offshore breeze and glassy rollers…makes me wish I had four wheels again to get the board to the beach. This really made my month. Early Saturday morning I got the call from Spencer, a neighbor kid in the building, to see if I’d be up for hitting the surf. The forecast looked good but the temperature was right around 49 degrees. Screw it, I’m not passing up the opportunity and I’m glad I didn’t. The air was a bit chilly but with the wetsuit on it wasn’t too bad. I grabbed my 8’4″ Robert August long board and we hit the beach on Palm Beach Island. Not sure what it is but things just haven’t been looking up around here. I honestly can’t remember the last “good” day I’ve had. I’ve been keeping busy with work and making sure I can pay the bills but honestly it all just seems like an uphill battle. I’m still hoping there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Just waiting for something better to happen. We all go through these downtimes. I just keep telling myself there are better days around the corner…I just hope that’s true.... Permalink

Thanks to Netflix I had a chance to see this movie last night. Wow, what a mind bending movie. Really well written and Sam Rockwell is amazing. Sam’s a lone worker on the Moon harvesting H3 for energy. His 3 year contract is almost up so he can go home to see his wife and kid but when he goes out to check something out he ends up saving another person…himself. Really really good. Definitely a great watch.... Permalink
