Almost There – Been a Busy Week
Whoo, I’m almost done with all of my deadlines. It’s been an extremely busy two weeks. 9 deadlines in 12 days but at least I’m not bored. My Washington client has a convention this weekend and all of their clients wanted their sites done before the 30th, both site builds and design comps. Add that on top of two other clients of mine and you’ve got a full work schedule. Hopefully once the payments come in I’ll be able to head down to Miami and check out that white and black CBR600 and trade up the motorcycle. That’s the plan... Continue Reading

Almost Ate It…
Several times. After months of riding a motorcycle around town I decided to take the bicycle out for a ride yesterday afternoon and hit the walking trail on Palm Beach Island. The first few blocks were awkward at best as I’m so used to the weight of the motorcycle that taking a simple corner on the bicycle made me look like I’d never been on a bike in my life. Wobbly and unnerving, like watching a kid learn to ride. I’m sure there were a handful of people who got a good chuckle out of my plight. Regardless it was... Continue Reading

Deadlines, deadlines…
Being swamped with work is both good and bad. I’m thinking it’s a good thing at the moment though the daunting task of completing 8 or so deadlines before the end of the month is going to be a challenge. I’m pretty sure I’m up for it. It’s just time to get the nose to the grindstone and get it all done. Two of my own clients need their site done by the end of the month as well as four site builds for my client in Washington, a design comp for them as well as additional changes and adjustments... Up At 4:30
Some days I just seem to wake up and can’t get back to sleep so what the hell, I guess I’ll just get up and get some work done. It’s now 5 am and I’m showered, dressed and sipping on a fresh cup of coffee. The sun’s not due to come up for another couple hours but here I am typing away. Not sure why but the last few days I’ve been waking up at 3am on the dot, regardless of what time I go to bed. This morning I just decided, instead of fighting to get back to sleep... Glad the Rain Is Gone
….at least for now. Yesterday was just an extension of the rainy day we had on Sunday. Pretty much all day was a wash with clouds and rain. This morning, though, we have clouds in the sky but a 72 degree outlook and sunshine. I love that feeling of walking out on my balcony to sunshine once again. For the winter months I never get any sunshine on my balcony since it faces north but no longer. Within the next month or so I’ll even have sunsets which, you all know, I love and try to photograph often. Yesterday was... Continue Reading

Where the Wild Things Are
I finally received this movie via Netflix over the weekend. It was a sweet little movie but not as good as the book I remembered as a kid. The little kid is kind of a brat and most of the movie was kind of sad. Life lessons, etc but the Wild Things were so well done. The costumes and character development was really kind of cool. I think more kids probably liked this over the adults though it does kind of conjure up memories of being a wild little kid. Overall a good flick but it probably won’t make it... Continue Reading

Finally Moved Over the Old Blog
Ok, so for the last few years I’ve been trying to get my old Nucleus blog installation into this WordPress one but there’s really no quick fix. None. Luckily I’ve been working with this local Journal software called MacJournal which is really cool. It integrates automatically into WordPress and publishes posts (like this one) with the click of a mouse (or trackpad in my case). So I exported my entire database of posts from my old blog to an Excel document removed the unnecessary tables, etc and set my mind to copy and paste every post into this application while... What a Ride
Friday I took off around 12:30 for the motorcycle ride down to Key West. Of course I was a bit nervous about such a ride but to be hones I just needed to get out of here for a while and I haven’t seen my old surf buddy Dan in quite some time. The first leg was obviously the fastest; Florida Turnpike down to Miami then on to the 45 mile per hour section of the trip. 85 on a motorcycle for an hour or so can be a fun ride though and the only real pain in the ass...
