After a full day of watching perfect surf go by without a way to get the board to the beach (and time to surf because of deadlines) I was able to talk my neighbor Patrick into hitting the beach. I forgot how happy just being in the water and catching a nice glassy ride really made me. So miss that feeling. Patrick is only starting out but he was doing fairly well. The surf was 2-4 ft and completely glassy and peeling. I took the longboard out and caught a ton of rides, grinning from ear to ear. We went out early in the morning and once again around 4pm. The latter set was a bit smaller but still rideable. The water felt amazing and I can’t wait till hurricane season comes along once again. The odd rantings of all South Florida surfers, haha.... Last night I finally made it over to Muvico to catch the new Iron Man movie. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it but the lull in the middle was a bit long. Sam Rockwell’s character “Hammer” was a bit over the top annoying. Whiplash played by Mickey Rourke was especially disturbing but very well done. They even poked a little jab at Captain America (which no one in my theater got at all so I laughed by myself). The appearance of Don Cheadle as Rhody was a good change. I know, we’re halfway through May and I have yet to write a real post. Truth be told there’s been a lot going on but I’ve been too lazy to share. Between Sunfest, Cinco de Mayo and trips out of town it just seems I’m writing about the same stuff as last year. Sunfest was a blast. I only did two days this year out of five. Saturday and Sunday and to be honest, the Sunday was a long one. The two days afterwards dealing with the hangover was a key factor in my lack of writing. Lots of live... Continue Reading
