The Long Walk

Yeah, today was kind of interesting. After a quick ride out to the beach yesterday doing just a surf check the bike began acting up once again. Mother fucker! So when I finally got the SV650 home I called the bike shop. They were kind of swamped so I said I’d take it in this morning.
So I head down to the garage and fire it up, completely expecting it to not run well but oddly it ran just fine. I decided to head over to the shop anyway and see if it would act up on the ride over….nothing. After a quick conversation with the mechanic I decided to just put some fuel treatment in the tank in hopes it would help.
Autozone is only a few blocks away so I headed over there and dropped some fuel treatment in the tank and immediately it began acting up once again. Back to the shop to drop it off but just as I get there it runs just fine once again….son of a bitch!
I decided to leave it there and just have them run it on the dynamometer and hopefully they’ll find and fix the problem.
The bike shop is about three miles away and I wasn’t about to pay a damn cab driver $15 for a three mile ride. Fuck that. So I bit the bullet and walked back.
Here Comes the Next Cold Front

Temperature during the photo above….76 degrees. The temperature this morning…49 degrees.
Last night this shot was taken just before a massive torrential downpour in West Palm (from my balcony of course). Honestly I wasn’t really expecting this much of a temperature drop but here we go again. It may get into the 60’s later today, whoo hoo.
I guess this is just the remnants of the huge blizzard cold front that hit the north about a week ago. Summer weather sure is taking it’s sweet-ass time getting back down here. Time to break out the heavy coats once again.
Mom’s Visit

It was great to have Mom and her friend Missy in over the weekend. I took them out downtown including Rocco’s (of course), then up to Lost Weekends, Monarchy, Dr. Feelgoods then off to Oshea’s. Needless to say they weren’t feeling so great the next day but we all had a good time.
Saturday I took them for a drive out to the beach then up Palm Beach island to show them the enormous houses up there.
Saturday night was the Waterfront opening downtown which was a zoo. Lines for everything and hundreds and hundreds of people. I’ve never seen so many women pushing strollers, they must have had something for the kids down there.
I ended up going out a bit later with a few friends. They left early Sunday morning but had a rough trip back home as their route was blocked by a rockslide of all things, in the Carolinas.
It was great as always to have my Mom in town. Love you Mom, hope you had a great time.

Not sure what it is but things just haven’t been looking up around here. I honestly can’t remember the last “good” day I’ve had. I’ve been keeping busy with work and making sure I can pay the bills but honestly it all just seems like an uphill battle. I’m still hoping there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. Just waiting for something better to happen. We all go through these downtimes.
I just keep telling myself there are better days around the corner…I just hope that’s true.
keep looking »
