After I finish up this home page comp and grab some lunch I’m off to Key West for the weekend to hang out with my buddy, Dan and his wife and kid. The ride should take me between 4 and 5 hours which is probably the longest I’ve ever been on a motorcycle but it should be a good ride. 240 miles from here to Key West and half of it will be in the keys. I just really need a good weekend out of West Palm Beach; somewhere more relaxing. As far as other things in my life, there’s no longer a cute little Brazilian girl (I know I never talk about girls on my site anymore but…) to hang out with. It feels like I’ve lost so much this year… first I made a stupid mistake and now Vinny and family are pretty much absent, Jamie moved back to England, Zack moved to L.A., Ramil is super busy so it’s been kind of lonely around here. Not that there aren’t any others to hang out with but it’s been a stretch. When best friends aren’t around it makes it kind of tough. Anyway, stoked about the Key West...

Once again the bike’s in the shop and has been since Monday. I just want it to run properly and it’s still acting up. After much research I’ve come to the conclusion it’s either the stator or the “dreaded green plug”. Either way it’s probably a sensor of some kind and not a fuel problem. Here are the symptoms: After running for at least a half an hour the idle becomes erratic and bounces between 1000 and 2000 rpms. If it reaches the 1k rpm area it acts like (and sometimes does) it’s going to die. I have to keep...

Today was no exception. After a pretty decent weekend I woke up this morning and rode out to my CPA on PGA Blvd to pick up my taxes. The bike’s been running odd lately so I was just taking it easy. As I pull off the exit for PGA I downshifted to first, then neutral (my bike doesn’t show what gear it’s in). Neutral felt kind of loose to get in the shifter under my left foot was acting weird. So I took off in first and tried to go to second when nothing… it wouldn’t shift. The entire pedal...

Yeah, today was kind of interesting. After a quick ride out to the beach yesterday doing just a surf check the bike began acting up once again. Mother fucker! So when I finally got the SV650 home I called the bike shop. They were kind of swamped so I said I’d take it in this morning. So I head down to the garage and fire it up, completely expecting it to not run well but oddly it ran just fine. I decided to head over to the shop anyway and see if it would act up on the ride over….nothing....

It’s been a rough few days on the bike lately. After giving my SV650 a wash on Thursday the bike began acting up. Idle wouldn’t stay normal and it kept dying on me. I tried to take it for a ride on Thursday and ended up walking it back home through downtown West Palm. Fun fun. After talking to my Dad I checked all the hoses, vacuum lines, lifted the tank and checked the airbox and air filter. Once cleaned up it seemed to run fine until today when it began acting up once again. Geez. So after taking a...

Last night I joined Jamie for a ride up to what used to be Moroso Speedway (forgot what it’s called now) for some drag racing. Nice night ride on the bikes up, a bit chilly but fun. His buddy Adam was racing his Kawasaki ZX1400 (same bike as Jamie, though race tuned) on the strip against a couple other bikes. We had a chance to watch him hit the strip twice, both times were right around 9.87 seconds. Quick! Loads of hotrods, slicks, funny cars, road rockets and even a couple supercharged Jeep Cherokees. Loud, smokey and awesome. The scenery...

Wow, there are stressful weeks and there are stressful weeks. This week was to be a hair graying week for sure. With two sites due by Wednesday noon and a full site design comp I had a ton of work to get done in two and half days. On top of that I found out my motorcycle had a flat back tire. It was a brand new tire (3-4 months old) so I must have ridden over something nasty, good thing it was a slow leak. Now having a flat in a car is fairly simple, put the spare on...

Monday morning is here once again. This past weekend was pretty mellow though there were some note worthy events. Jamie’s birthday was on Saturday so by chance I happened to run into them on Friday night. In the process of trying to watch a movie on Friday night Primecasts satellite connection went down (of course) so I headed downstairs to pick up a handful of movies from Netflix which were in my mailbox. I stepped out front for a few minutes when I ran into Jamie and friends waiting for the rain to pass. They were on their way to...

The brand new Axio Swift 2.0 backpack arrived yesterday and it’s really nice. Should be perfect for hauling stuff around on the motorcycle. It fits my 17″ laptop perfectly as well as my Canon Digital Rebel and extra 300mm lens. The stress of the last couple days kind of puts a damper on the mood though but I’m trying to focus on the positive things right now. It’s been a rough month. Not the first and probably not the last but I’m hoping for better days. At least this little item allows me to travel where I need to with...
