Well the weekend is over once again and now it’s time to get back to it. Overall it was a decent weekend though Saturday was pretty much non-stop rain. Friday night was spent just hanging out with Vinny down at his place. Zak and I had to walk down to Roxy’s to watch the Ohio State game since it wasn’t on anywhere in the building. It was a blowout but then again it should have been. Yesterday was by far the best day of the weekend. The sun was out and Jamie and I went for a morning ride up north to Jupiter and beyond. Stopped at Starbucks for a Frappuccino then back down to the Square Grouper for some lunch. From there it was off to the pool to even out the farmer’s tans we got from riding the motorcycles. Now it’s Monday and the weather forecast looks like hell. Rain, rain all week long. Looks like I won’t be doing much riding this week. We did have surf this weekend but I wasn’t going to push my back on it. Not sure if it was a pinched nerve or what but I’d rather take it easy for a...

Up until last night I had yet to take the new bike out at night. I’ve become pretty used to it so far so I geared up and headed over to Palm Beach (island) last night where there’s a really nice little spot along the beach where you can park but to my knowledge no one goes. There’s really no beach access and the wall you’d have to jump you probably couldn’t get back up once you made the leap. Regardless it was a nice escape last night and a nice little ride up the island. I just kind of...

Jamie sent this over this morning. Looks like a decent backpack specially made for riding and carrying a 17″ laptop (if I have to). I’ve actually found it online in a couple other locations much cheaper so this is next on the purchase list. I’ve already ordered a couple waterproof items. One for the iPhone and one for various paperwork like registration, etc that I’ll have to keep in the bike at all times anyway. So, I’m getting there....

It was an interesting weekend to say the least. Not too much pool excitement but the weekend as a whole was fun. Yesterday morning Jamie, Mike and I went for a ride out Indiantown Road (I think), a long straight stretch out west with little traffic and distractions. We had planned on heading down to Bostons in Delray but a huge storm impeded out progress. Once we got home the pool just wasn’t cutting it for me so I completed the journey down to South Delray to visit Ramil. Nice little run down A1A. A little slow but relaxing. I’m...

Well I made it home safe and sound yesterday from Kissamee, Florida (think south Orlando). Jamie was kind enough to give me a lift up there and he followed me back. It took a little less than 2.5 hours to get there and a bit more to get back but it was fun…that is except for about 20 minutes where the sky opened up and I was caught in a torrential downpour. I had puddles in my shoes but I made it. Whew, THAT was interesting. It’s a great bike though and so far I’m really enjoying it. Jamie and...

Remember that bike I found online about a month ago? That’s the exact bike I’m picking up this morning so I’ll finally be up on two wheels. I stopped at Central Florida Powesports on my way back from Ohio to check it out… too bad they shipped it off to Clearwater Florida the day before I got there. Damn. So I talked to the guy and with a small deposit they shipped it back to Kissamee and today’s the big day. Luckily my friend Jaime rides as well and is more than happy to give me a lift up there...

One step closer to being up on two wheels. I had an appointment today with the local shithole, I mean DMV. Luckily I knew to make an appointment, otherwise I’d still be standing in line. I should have brought my earbuds for the iPhone though since the innane conversations I had to endure were really beginning to wear on me. At least the woman behind the counter was nice and didn’t seem to be worn down by her day to day routine. Anyway, I now have the official motorcycle endorsement on my license (new picture as well) so that’s one...

I know I’ve got months but when picking up my neighbor, Jamie at Broward Motorsports this morning (he had to drop his bike up for it’s first maint.) we headed back to the building only to see a great looking bike parked in the visitors lot of my building. What was it? It was a 2004 Suzuki SV650 (not sure about the year on the one parked in the lot), a nice clean “naked” sport bike. Most are within my price range and I’ve read some good reviews as well. Really nice looking bike. Now to find one on cycle...
