Moon

Thanks to Netflix I had a chance to see this movie last night. Wow, what a mind bending movie. Really well written and Sam Rockwell is amazing.

Sam’s a lone worker on the Moon harvesting H3 for energy. His 3 year contract is almost up so he can go home to see his wife and kid but when he goes out to check something out he ends up saving another person…himself. Really really good. Definitely a great watch.

Avatar Was Amazing

All I have to say is wow, this movie was amazing. I had a chance to see it in 3d at Muvico down the street and wow. Stunning visual effects and a pretty good story line, though the previews do give away quite a bit if you pay attention.

It’s definitely a must see movie. I’m not sure about the “future of movies” comment everyone seems to be making. It’s an evolution of how movies are made but it’s still a movie never the less.

The overall production cost of Avatar was 300 million and it made over 274 million on opening weekend… not bad at all.

If you have a chance to catch this visual stunner before it leaves theaters definitely do so. You won’t be disappointed.

Hit Girl Is A Badass

Just saw this on WWTDD and had to repost it. Warning… some dirty language, haha. There’s just something funny about a 12 year old hit woman. Ah, take a look you’ll see what I mean.

The Hangover… and No Not One of Mine

The Hangover

I was really dying to do something other than hang by the pool yesterday. I know we’ve got it pretty good down here but with the total lack of surf the weekends have become somewhat mundane and boring (can’t wait to get a bike for something else to do). So I decided to catch The Hangover, a hilarious movie about a bachelor party in Vegas.

It was awesome, wish I’d seen it earlier. I walked down to Muvico by myself and got a great seat and took it all in. By far the best part of the movie was the rolling credits, which sounds odd but it explains the entire “missing” bachelor party.

Basically none of the characters remember what the hell happened to them the night before, the groom is missing, there’s a baby in the closet, a tiger in the bathroom and a tiny Asian man in their trunk. Yeah, it’s a riot.

Make sure you see the Hangover before it’s out of the theaters, otherwise you’ll just have to wait till it comes out on DVD.

Transformers – Revenge of the Fallen

I had a chance last night to hit the movies and catch the new Transformers Movie and to be honest with you it was a bit of a let down. Could have been my mood too, I guess. One screaming baby and a couple of “won’t shut up” teenagers behind me.

But it was entertaining. The action was amazing and of course, so where the special effects but the storyline and a couple new characters made me feel like I was watching a cartoon, not a movie…and could Micheal Bay bay blow up more stuff [sarcasm]. The primary cast was pretty good but a couple just got on my nerves (like the main character’s parents).

Overall it was pretty good and I may add it to the library just to add one to the set. Bringing back the ancient JetFire was badass even though it didn’t follow his original story line (from the cartoon). Also, Meghan Fox was stunning as usual so at least there was something sexy to look at.

Now if only we could keep people from bringing babies to the movie theater. Who’s bright idea was that anyway?
