The Birthday Weekend

Bryan, Me and Jamie

It actually turned out pretty cool. Friday night before I got to hang out with Vinny, Annette, George and Frank over at Vinny’s place. The rest of the evening was a bit of a bummer but that’s how it goes.

Saturday night was a lot of fun. We hit Roxy’s new rooftop bar on our way to Lost Weekends. The rooftop bar was very cool; actually made you feel like you in the city. I ended up running into a couple stunners who recognized me from Halloween as the SWAT guy. I guess I made an impression because they weren’t the only ones to bring up that costume that night.

From there we pretty much bounced around Clematis. I had to stop into Rocco’s since Stacy said she had a shot waiting for me. Can’t let that go to waste. I ran into Rocco who gave me a full bottle of Patron for my birthday. Awesome, thanks Rocco!

Rocco’s, Lost Weekends, Feelgoods, Monarchy, Roxy’s upstairs and Down and who knows where else we went. It was a great time!

Halloween photos - Me, Jaime and Connor

After a week of the photos being up on Facebook, it’s time to share with the rest of you. Moonfest / Halloween this year was a great time. I spent a couple months putting together the perfect SWAT team costume complete with military boots, authentic SWAT team vest, airsoft gun, holster and helmet (though I didn’t wear the helmet out).

Lots of great costumes down on the street. My vest was packed with little airplane bottles of rum and vodka, a flask of Milagro and three Corona Light cans. No need to spend too much that night at all on Clematis.

Not sure when I made it home but I did, safe and sound. Here are all of the photos from the night’s festivities.

Another Weekend Gone

Posted on October 5, 2009

Monday morning is here once again. This past weekend was pretty mellow though there were some note worthy events.

Jamie’s birthday was on Saturday so by chance I happened to run into them on Friday night. In the process of trying to watch a movie on Friday night Primecasts satellite connection went down (of course) so I headed downstairs to pick up a handful of movies from Netflix which were in my mailbox. I stepped out front for a few minutes when I ran into Jamie and friends waiting for the rain to pass. They were on their way to Oshea’s but the downpour impeded their progress across the street. So I offered my umbrella and was invited along for a few drinks.

From there I visited Rocco’s and then over to Opa to see my buddy Ramil who was out with friends.

Saturday was the big 610 barbecue. I was asked to do the grilling so bring on the meat. I must have cooked over 60 burgers and who knows how many dogs for what was to be a great turnout. After grilling for a couple hours I wanted to catch the Ohio State game (which wasn’t even on TV). Needless to say we won! Turned in early and called it a night.

Sunday was up early for a ride to the beach and a coffee / breakfast at Starbucks in downtown. Lunchtime was in the mood for Chipotle so I hopped on the bike and headed for Linton Ave in Delray. Nice little ride and the weather was perfect.

Sunday afternoon by the pool just being lazy and that’s pretty much it. I’m sure the barbecue photos will be up on Bob’s site soon so I’ll link them up for you guys.

Update: Here’s Bob’s page with photos of the event

Lots and Lots of Driving (Florida to Ohio and Back)

Yes the Amish go to Wal-Mart

Sounds like there and back again by Bilbo Baggins but not quite. I decided to drive back to Cincinnati and see family (most importantly my Mom) and friends. The first leg was a grueling 16 hours straight through leaving West Palm Beach at 5am and ending up in Cincinnati at 9pm. Thanks so much Nicole for letting me crash on your couch, and what a comfy couch it was!

The next day was all Mom and family. The pic above is of an Amish horse and buggy outside of the Hillsboro Wal-Mart which I couldn’t resist taking.

Saturday I took off for downtown to hang with the guys and Nicole. I had a chance to see Surface’s new little girl and hang with his new family for awhile. The late night shots are uploaded on Facebook for that stuff. Here’s the full travel album for everyone else

Sunday was dinner with Mom in Eastgate then I had a chance to see my old buddy Eli and his new baby boy before heading back to Nicole’s couch.

Monday morning I took off for Atlanta to visit Matt on my way home and see his soon to be family. Thanks so much guys, that was awesome of you to let me stay a night there. Bambi looks great and is ready to have her little girl. Only five weeks left and Matt’s gonna be a daddy – good luck man I hope it’s a happy healthy baby girl.

From there is was the trip to Kissamee Florida to stop by the motorcycle dealership and check out the bike. I’ll write about that later as I need to get caught up on stuff but that’s the story for the most part.

Good trip, exhausting but good and I’m glad I got to give my Mom and my sister a big hug.
