Lots and Lots of Driving (Florida to Ohio and Back)

Yes the Amish go to Wal-Mart

Sounds like there and back again by Bilbo Baggins but not quite. I decided to drive back to Cincinnati and see family (most importantly my Mom) and friends. The first leg was a grueling 16 hours straight through leaving West Palm Beach at 5am and ending up in Cincinnati at 9pm. Thanks so much Nicole for letting me crash on your couch, and what a comfy couch it was!

The next day was all Mom and family. The pic above is of an Amish horse and buggy outside of the Hillsboro Wal-Mart which I couldn’t resist taking.

Saturday I took off for downtown to hang with the guys and Nicole. I had a chance to see Surface’s new little girl and hang with his new family for awhile. The late night shots are uploaded on Facebook for that stuff. Here’s the full travel album for everyone else

Sunday was dinner with Mom in Eastgate then I had a chance to see my old buddy Eli and his new baby boy before heading back to Nicole’s couch.

Monday morning I took off for Atlanta to visit Matt on my way home and see his soon to be family. Thanks so much guys, that was awesome of you to let me stay a night there. Bambi looks great and is ready to have her little girl. Only five weeks left and Matt’s gonna be a daddy – good luck man I hope it’s a happy healthy baby girl.

From there is was the trip to Kissamee Florida to stop by the motorcycle dealership and check out the bike. I’ll write about that later as I need to get caught up on stuff but that’s the story for the most part.

Good trip, exhausting but good and I’m glad I got to give my Mom and my sister a big hug.

Another Lazy Weekend

Posted on July 20, 2009

The pool was as packed as I’ve ever seen it yesterday. It felt like 610 Clematis Spring Break ’09 here, it was great. Most took it fairly easy this weekend, most meaning Vince, Annette and I. Not too hectic and overall very relaxing.

A couple birthdays were celebrated as well, both Zak and Melissa had their birthdays over the weekend so we did it up on Friday night instead of the usual all weekender. Happy birthday guys! Great time overall, sorry I couldn’t make it out on Saturday night Zak, I was exhausted from the beach earlier in the day.

Still no surf to speak of but I promised to take ole’ Zak out and teach him how to paddle and sit on a board sometime soon. The more surfers, the better. Now if we only had some swell that’d be awesome.

Pretty Good Memorial Day Weekend

Posted on May 26, 2009

Once again I missed my normal Monday morning weekend but this time for good reason. It was a long weekend and as usual I made it a point to enjoy it, weekends are too precious.

Friday night I went out with Marco from De Napoli and we pretty much did the town. Rocco’s, Lost Weekend, Feelgoods and Monarchy. We actually ran into Brett (ex-bartender from Rocco’s) and hung out with him for some time.

Saturday I headed down to hang out with Annette, Vince and their friend Erin who was in town from Chicago at the beach Condo in Highland beach. Tequila, tequila, tequila – and it was all good. Happy belated birthday once again Annette.

Sunday was a chill day just getting things done around the house and trying to stay productive.

Monday was the South African get-together at D’s house in Delray. The whole clan was there, great food and drinks. Thanks again D, great to see you again.

I was able to take some photos in Highland Beach on Saturday but that was about all the photos that I got for the weekend. Check my facebook for an upload soon.

I Survived Cinco de Mayo

Posted on May 6, 2009

The official festivities started off at my buddy Vince’s house with a couple beers and good tequila. From there I just walked down the block party which was awesome. Good times, I ran into some other neighbors and we had a few more drinks. Dinner at the bar and I was home by 10:30.

Today I’m feeling just a little foggy but overall pretty good.

Thanks to Rocco for the stage shot of Patron and hooking up the whole event. You know how to have a good time bro.

Rocco’s – Cinco de Mayo Block Party

Posted on May 5, 2009

Rocco's Cinco de MayoLike the 4th of July, it always tells you when it’s coming. It’s that time of year again and this year I actually get to enjoy it.

Rocco is hosting his annual Cinco de Mayo event down on Clematis today, which always promises to be a great time. Even though I’m not even close to Mexican, I always enjoy a little tequila and sunshine. There’s going to be a mariachi band and live music by DJ Adam Lipton so I’m really looking forward to cutting out early today, donning my traditional Mexican dress shirt and going down and really enjoying myself. A kind of reward for myself for really digging in and getting things done.

I’ll see you there!
