Sunsets Are Back

I know, I know, they never really go away but my place faces north and the U-shaped building I live in kind of faces west so half of the year I miss out on sunsets. The seasons do change and the sun does move and to tell you the truth, I’m pretty stoked it’s back. Sun-rises too, just as they peak over the building I catch a nice morning ray or two while sipping coffee on the balcony.
Welcome back to the sunny side. (photo above was from last April)

It’s Finally Over

The worst president in American History is finally leaving office after 8 long years of bullshit. The worst financial crisis since the 1930′s, worst recession since the 30′s, worst foreign policy and the fact that the idiot couldn’t pronounce simple words in a press conference let alone lead our country without screwing it all up.
I’ll have to put it all to 537 confused elderly Floridians for this one. Thanks for the memories.
Hopefully we’re on to better things with the upcoming administration. Only time will tell. Today I’m celebrating the face that this asshole’s no longer president.

Photographic Motivation (In a Manner of Speaking)

I recently read this great article on 43Folders the other day and it makes a lot of sense, especially for a person just beginning to re-explore photography a bit deeper. Basically the author carries around his camera almost everywhere he goes and snaps off tons of photos. It’s not about looking like tool with a camera, its about taking the time to evaluate your surroundings and having the courage to stop and shoot no matter what.
Kind of motivation and inspiration to cast aside the fear of “looking like a moron with a camera” and just getting out there and shooting. Most shot’s you take will be crap but the good ones will stand out, and now that most people shoot digital it doesn’t matter how many shots you take. You can just evaluate and delete the ones that don’t make the cut.
