I spent a half hour in the dentist chair this week for the first time in over 7 years. So yeah…that was fun but I had to get my teeth cleaned. I began a new project for the building I live in. Redoing the website to better represent our building and so far it’s coming along nicely. I wish I had more time to work on it but so far its been a nightly thing but it’s a big step up from what was there before. If you’d like to see the new site go here: http://www.610clematisstreet.com/ My Fisheye lens arrive from Amazon this week as well so I took a couple hours shooting photos for the building website. So much fun taking odd and wide angle shots of random places around my building. I also had a team of three little Mexican’s come over to my house and clean it (thoroughly) for the first time since Trish and I broke up a few years ago. My house is rarely filthy but I don’t get down and clean every little nook or wipe the floorboards down and clean the little things. They did an amazing job and it only took about an hour and a half. For $60 it was worth it. I attended another West Palm Beach Tweetup at Greese Burger, a local bar/restaurant on Wednesday. It was great meeting new people and seeing some old friends as well. Nice job to Aaron (@aguyonclematis), thanks for hosting yet another successful Tweetup. Everyone have a great Friday and a great weekend. This is probably the last weekend we’ll have at the pool until November since they’re draining and refinishing the pool coating over the month of October.

I finally pulled the trigger and incorporated last week. It’s been so busy around here I haven’t had time to do anything with it (or update the blog for that matter). I did however get the full incorporation, corporate bank account and EIN which should save my ass come tax time. At least that’s what I’m hoping. All new clients and some old ones are all now going through Rockwell. After month, literally months of going over around 90 business names I kept coming back to Rockwell. It just rolls off the tongue and luckily http://www.rockwelldesignstudio.com was available. What luck! There’s nothing there at the moment. Yet another project for me to get rolling when I have time to think and my eyes aren’t burning out of my skull from staring at the computer screen. If I have time today I’ll try and get up a “coming soon” page before I really dive into design and development.

Months ago I lost a very close and dear friend, Joe Politzer. He was very involved in the Cambodian Children’s Painting Project, a group dedicated to the impoverished children of Cambodia. Recently some friends of Joe contacted me and asked if I could pitch in and help out with the site “EveryonesJoe.com” and of course I said hell yeah. The name itself almost brings tears to my eyes as Joe really was everyone’s Joe. I don’t think I ever met an easier person to love (like a brother of course) than Joe. Anyway they have an event to auction off (or sell I’m not sure yet) artwork created by Cambodian Children’s Painting Project in Cleveland, Joe’s home town. Now it’s up to me to get it designed, developed and running. Installation of WordPress is done and I have a few ideas as to theme design and logo design. It’s going to be a nightly working project of course but it’s for a great cause, and a cause that was very close to Joe. If you’d like to learn more about the Cambodian Children’s Painting Project you can check out their Facebook Page.

Whew, the last week has been busy, exciting and overall pretty positive. I must apologize for the lack of updates over the last week, my focus has been set primarily on getting things done, projects, personal projects and networking. Freelance estimates are out, projects are coming in and I’m happy. I’m determined to make the best of this situation and do more than just stay afloat. It’s time to do something really great with my life, nothing breeds motivation like necessity. So, in the interim this blog may suffer a bit as far as daily updates, but stay tuned on my Twitter feed if you long for a day in the life of Damien. I’ll be linking up professional articles, new projects as well as what kind of oatmeal I had this morning (well, may not but you the idea). Also, if any of you out there know someone who needs some web help, by all means send them over to my portfolio site. If a project comes out of a referral I’ll see what I can do about setting up a finders fee-like payment. Alright, 8:14 and it’s time to get to it. Stay tuned!

Stay tuned!
