In more ways than one. The surf was smaller than expected but overall it was rideable. Thanksgiving day was small in Delray but I stuck fast to my tradition. Trish and I lounged around on the beach half the day after catching a few rides on meager surf. Friday’s surf was much better though I had to drive up to Jupiter to get it. Clean, east northeast swell and offshore winds gave rise to super clean 3-4 ft perfection and not a sole within 300 yards. I had a break all to myself for about two hours. Saturday yielded no real surf to speak of but yesterday, Pat and I headed back up to Jupiter after running my car through the car wash early in the morning. It was rideable but still mushy, I’m blaming the full moon I think.

My car had a rough holiday weekend. No major damage though after walking back to my car from Boston’s on Friday night I noticed someone had smashed in my back passenger window. They didn’t steal anything, not one thing but I was still pretty pissed. I immediately made a police report and called the insurance company who proceeded to tell me it’s less than my deductible so I’d have to pay for the window out of pocket. No special “vandalism” insurance I guess. The following morning I had the window replaced and took the ride for a car wash.

Then to add insult to injury when I came out to my car this morning it was completely covered in bird shit! Not the car next to me, nor the ground around my car. Just ON my car. Not a good morning so far, and all that after spending time and money getting a thorough wash, wax and shine yesterday morning. The best I could do was grab a wad of paper towels and a bin of water and do my best to rinse off the foulness so it wouldn’t bake into the paintjob all day. Gotta love freakin’ Monday’s!

So I’d have to say, eh, it definitely could have been better. At least I got to surf, spend some time on the beach almost every day and try and enjoy a four day weekend.
