Yeah, for those of you following along with me I’m finally in my new pad. It’s pretty sweet though I wish I had taken some photos during the move. Too busy I guess and completely distracted. Last week I spent most of the entire week packing, taping, packing and more packing and now I’m glad it’s finally done. Today marks the second day I walked to work which, with the latest weather, is nothing short of spectacular. It’s a crisp 62 degrees right now and it feels awesome outside.
The first night in the new place (Monday night) I forgot to pull the curtain rod hooks off the walls and it made it a bit difficult to sleep. No worries last night though, slept like a log.
There are only a couple things about the new place that aren’t quite right – but I’ll see what I can do to remedy them. Because the building is partially inhabited and there are alot of snow birds who own but don’t live here year round the parking lot in the basement is all full. Not full of cars, but empty spaces that are all spoken for. I bring this up because everyone has assigned spaces and the guy parked right next to me is practically in my spot… with Conneticut plates…. and it hasn’t moved since I moved in. The other side of my spot is a large concrete pillar so that means I’ve got to squeeze my big Pathfinder into a tiny spot with about four inches on either side. I even have to fold in the mirrors. Hopefully the building manager can call them and have it moved or possibly find a better spot for me. Fingers crossed on that one because it takes me a good 3-5 minutes to get it into the cramped space, even though there are dozens around me that are empty.
The second thing that’s a bit off is there is a cabinet in the kitchen that has some sort of sliding track thing in it that wasn’t quite installed properly.
The bathroom also has a eye sore, or more like a odd mix up. When I arrived the vanity door was off and the hinges were all wrong. So I took the hinges off, and put some different ones on it that I found in the kithcen and it works perfectly. Until you close it and the door they left me is bout 5 inches too narrow which means there’s a gap to the right of the door. Another phone call I guess.
Other than that I’m still unpacking here and there but it’s getting there. Once it’s all put together I’ll throw some shots up on the site!
