Ok, so this is irritating. A couple months ago (or sooner) my place was broken into and luckily they didn’t get away with much more than a really really nice camera and a portion of my dignity. After that I had a new door and lock put on my front door to keep this kind of thing from happening again.
Last night I was in my normal routine. Got home, changed, hopped on my skateboard and locked the door behind me and skated down to the main office where the mail boxes are. Upon my return to my front door the key would not work. I didn’t lock the bolt like, thank god. After messing with it for about 15 minutes my frustration got the better of me and I put my foot to work. Once kick, and not eve a very hard one, and the door was open, door jam around the knob busted to pieces.
The first kick I thought I’d just give a feel to see what it would take to open it so I didn’t really put any power into it at all, but that’s all it took to pop that son of a bitch right open. Now I don’t know whether to be upset with the shoddy installation by CK’s or the busted door. It was either cut the screen in back and go through the back door or pop the door open.
It turns out the installation was done improperly and the door lock wasn’t put together right at all causing it to malfunction and to my surprise I’m not the only one this happened to in the complex. At least I still have a bolt lock for the front door right now though to be honest I’m a little wary of it’s strength against the wind at this point, let alone a swift kick.
