Lewis Black’s: Let Them Eat Cake

I wish I could say we got to see the show but Sunday night just wasn’t happening for us.

Trish recently purchased tickets to the show. Hell, she bought them a couple months ago and we were looking forward to the show. Lewis Black is by far one of my favorite comedians and he was playing in the grand venue of the Kravitz Center here in West Palm. We had a nice evening all planned out but even the best laid plans fall to shit on occasion.

I picked her up around 4:30 and we parked my car at my house, walked down to City Cellar for a very nice ($) dinner. Filet on my plate and Seabass on hers, a couple glasses of wine, etc, etc. Then off to Blue Martini for a drink before walking down to the Kravitz Center.

Once we got down to the show we walked in, grabbed a drink while we waited for them to open the doors. By this time Trish is starting to feel pretty bad and is going back and forth between crying (for reasons she doesn’t know or won’t tell me) and feeling sick. We sat in our seats and watched about 15 minutes of the opening act, then it’s too much for her to bear. We get up and go to the bathroom, she’s not well.

So we leave. She pleaded for me to stay and watch the show but I can’t do that. So I almost carried her down to the street where we’re looking for the trollie or even one of those bicycle rickshaws. Nothing. Finally I flagged down a cop and we hopped the back of his cruiser and he took us the 5 blocks back to my house.

Got her upstairs and put her in bed but she was more comfortable on my cold leather couch. So that’s where she stayed all night. Every time she moved I popped out to see if she was ok. I probably got about 3 hours of sleep before work yesterday. Completely wiped out.

Now I’m feeling like I’m about to get sick, or at least I did last night. Queezy stomach, headache. Not too bad this morning but we’ll see.

I should note that Trish was sick before dinner and the show so it’s not food poisoning. She just said she was feeling better at dinner.
