Irene is Getting Closer with Winds of 100mph
It looks like Irene is breaking more and more to the East with is awesome. If it goes offshore there’s a really good chance it could generate some nice surf for the weekend. Of course it’ll be a washing machine on Thursday and Friday but that remains to be seen. They’re forecasting it’ll be a Cat 3 by the time it makes landfall. It’s currently standing at a Cat 2 with winds of 100mph. The hurricane track for just north of us is calling for winds around 130mph after it passes us here in West Palm Beach. Information courtesy of a fantastic iPhone app called Hurricane. Here’s the link if you’d like to keep perfect track of the storm as it arrives: Hurricane iPhone App – Tracking maps, radar, water vapor as well as a complete history of storms and push alerts for upcoming storms. It is a paid app but it’s well worth the $2.99 for purchase.... Permalink

Here Comes Irene!
This one looks like it could produce some serious surf…especially if it stays off to the east and heads for the Carolinas. Everyone get your hurricane readiness supplies before Thursday! Bring on the Surf!!! Here’s the link to the Video…couldn’t get it to run in the window for some reason... Permalink

One Year Anniversary with Sesame Communications
Well it’s been a year, today, working as a full time salaried employee for SesameCommunications and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’d like to take a moment and just say thanks to those guys up in Seattle for not only getting me through a tough time but changing my life. Thank you so much. Special thanks to Michelle McEggers…you’re awesome. This job allows me so much freedom while giving me a quality of life that’s tough to beat. Working from home has so many perks, the only downfall is the lack of human interaction but that’s overrated anyway, haha.... Continue Reading

Me Trying (poorly) to Play Change
A while a go I recorded this little gem on my iPhone using the Suer8 video app. The film effect is pretty cool but the playing needs some serious practice…and my singing is not really what you’d call…good. Eh, but it’s something to post and share so here you go guys. Enjoy if you’re up for it. I literally learned this in about 20 minutes and tried to give it a shot on video. Bad idea…... Permalink

Not Much Going On…So Enjoy the Chive.
It’s been pretty uneventful around here lately so take a break and visit my favorite website, TheChive.com. It’s updated a few times a day and it’s always a good place to visit if you want to take a quick break during work. I actually am one of the lucky ones who got lucky and ordered a Chive T-Shirt before they sold out (which happens in about 30 minutes every time they come in stock). So, happy Tuesday everybody… Keep Calm and Chive On!... Permalink

No Surf for You!
Well, this is disappointing. It looks as though tropical storm Emily has dissipated over Haiti so that means no surf for us. The MagicSeaweed forecast is listing a top wave height of 2-3 feet. Bummer. Looks like we’ll have to find something else to do this weekend.... Permalink

Here Comes Tropical Storm Emily
It looks like we got a live one. This one’s heading right for us and is more than likely the reason we’ll be getting some big surf this coming weekend. The Weather Channel has officially declared it a tropical storm and could possibly be a hurricane by weeks end when it hits South Florida. Here’s the link to the video Now lets see how the locals deal with the upcoming storm. I say, bring it on. It’s about time we had some big surf.... Permalink

Kings of Leon US Tour: Cancelled
Damnit, and I was looking forward to hitting the concert this Wednesday with a bunch of my neighbors. According to their website: We are so sorry to say Kings of Leon are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion. The band is devastated, but in order to give their fans the shows they deserve, they need to take this break. Unfortunately, the US dates cannot be rescheduled due to the band’s international tour schedule. At least I hadn’t yet purchased tickets, Matthew and I were just going to scalp a couple at...
